|Deanery Synod||

|There were three meetings<br>ofthe Leatherhead<br>Deanery Synod during 2022.||
|The first meeting was held on Zoom on the 23 February.||
|The Revd Renos Pittarides<br>opened the meeting<br>and gave the Area Deans report mentioning|the|
|Parish needs process being about to begin with<br>all parishes to think oftheir vision for the future.||
|Graeme<br>Hampshire<br>gave<br>an update<br>from the<br>Diocese<br>and<br>Synod<br>Standing<br>Committee|and|
|reported that Bishop Andrew<br>was now a member ofthe House of Lords.||
|Renos<br>Pitterides<br>spoke about the<br>The Deanery<br>Development<br>Plan,<br>and<br>highlighted<br>four|key|
|iterns:-||
|(a)<br>thanksgiving<br>service for the NHS||
|(b)<br>'Turning<br>off the tap'.<br>social and and educational<br>programmes<br>to increase<br>awareness|of|
|the harms of pornography.||
|(c)<br>Deanery<br>Leadership<br>Team to put forward<br>and lead on their own projects,||
|(d)<br>Living<br>in Love and<br>Faith progress.<br>Bill King reported<br>that response<br>among<br>parishes|had|
|been patchy.||
|Sean Skinner<br>gave an update<br>on the Youth<br>and Children's<br>Ministry<br>Network,<br>mentioning|the|
|wish to extend the Network to anyone working<br>with children<br>and young people.||
|Deanery Leadership<br>Team:<br>Bill King announced<br>his intention<br>to retire as Lay Chairman.||
|Refugee<br>Support:<br>how<br>churches<br>can<br>help:<br>Revd<br>Charlene<br>Hollington<br>welcomed<br>Jeannie||
|Tweedie, Steve Wells of CAN Elmbridge,<br>and Jo Sherring of Epsom and<br>Ewell Refugee Network.||
|Jeannie<br>Tweedie<br>described<br>channelling<br>offers of help<br>and<br>volunteers<br>in the<br>community,||
|including<br>an<br>employment<br>working<br>group<br>helping<br>those<br>with<br>CVs.<br>Language<br>learning|and|
|computer<br>skills were important.<br>Jo Sherring<br>described<br>the community<br>sponsorship<br>scheme,||
|and<br>mentioned<br>she and<br>her husband<br>were<br>landlords<br>to a refugee<br>family.<br>A question|and|
|answer session followed||
