Financial Report 2024 (on 2023 Accounts)

An overview table showing our all our main bank accounts together is given below.

This is followed by summary figures for our Current Account and then for our Buildings Deposit Account. Main summary points in note form are then given at the end the tables of figures.

Main Summary Points

All Accounts As shown above in the “All Accounts” table, our total incomings of £121.3k are against an expenditure of £109.6k to show a balance of £11.7k. However, this ‘balance’ is still not a true picture of how we stand. We only really use the 'Current Account' and

'Buildings Deposit Account' for our usual 'everyday' expenditure. These are the two accounts that we really use each year as a measure our income and expenditure. These are the accounts that we 'live by' in our giving, income and expenditure. The other accounts have external funding sources and are totally restricted or designated. This year we had a £38,606.40 repayment from Barclays Bank into the Cobden Close Account from another account of ours that they made dormant, and closed down that account, without our permission! This took 18 months to claim back! As we originally had this amount, it isn’t shown as an income in the Cobden Close account for 2023.

Current Account Our balance for the year is £12.4k. This has been artificially boosted as we claimed some £8.4k gift aid back from previous years. We are also presently paying a lower figure for our Common Fund contribution than we should be.

Buildings Deposit Account The deficit in this account over the year is £7.3k which is primarily down to our expenditure on a Quantity Surveyor Building Costs Analysis and a Strategy Report done by our architect Alex Veal.

Thank you everybody for all you do to give generously to the work of God and

His kingdom. We are stewards of the resources God has given to us individually, and as a church. We need to continue to be generous as God’s anointed body. We need to increase our giving as we journey in faith towards fulfilling God's vision for us.

Please let me know if you need any further information relating to our accounts.

A BIG THANK YOU to Nikki Bell (Administrator), Ursulyn George (Treasurer) and to Jacky Wraight and George Hurd who help with our payments and/or our accounting.

Alan
