I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination. (9,557)| ## **Main Summary Points** Overall total incomings of £143.2k against expenditure of £160.2k show a deficit of £17k.This is rather a false picture, as over10k of Gift Aid for 2021 is still due to come in, and this will show in our 2022 accounts. We will also receive a grant back of some 4/5k for monies paid out in 2021 for surveys, which we had to initially pay up front. We received a 16.2k grant award in 2021 to help with Covid recovery and also a further grant, part 2, towards the stabilising of the cupola. You will note that the building account shows a deficit as we paid out for mesh repairs to secure the flintwork at the front of the building and we saw to a temporary roof for the Grundon Room, amongst other building repair and upkeep work. We did, however, get some back-rent from the telecomms companies that use our tower which helped us compensate for some of our repair costs.We paid a reduced amount of £50k to the Diocese Common Fund. Thank you to Nikki (Administrator)and Ursulyn (Treasurer) who have helped enormously as we have moved over to a web-software solution using a team-approach to our accounting systems, using 'Xero' software. This is indeed helping our overall efficiency, organisation and reporting. _Alan_
