We have continued to try and rravigale our way through chaThJing regulations. along vjith the differing needs of tlyjse wlv) wish lo get everyth1r "back lo rK)rmal' as quickly as possible, a1 those vh) still ne&J lo be cautio us aboL intelIng wth other peopl8. It was good to be able to have a new vision day in September 2(r21. duiirwJ which we vHe able to imagine our future three yèars from Th)w. On the latter, it has been eouraging to see progress beir#J mad& towards actr4eviThJ Ecochurch stus, and il was a significat moment of rejoicing to enable Epping St Jo'S to run a day link&1 lo COP26 in our ChLrch for local Primary Schools. Our work on ()pllervJing Bias has been pick up by a nsjmber of local schools. and we are heavily involved wth Epping St John's School's DNer5ity GrDUP. # has also bw good to S6è our work wth those affected by dementia develop during the last year. Whilst we sb'll continuo to face financial challerNJes. w are so gratef ul to everyone continues lo support tF church through regular f inancia giving. This is a movement for renewal started by Sl Martin in Ihe Fields. %thich oUrage$ churches lo focus on the abundance of God by priorilwng wvrk on congregational newa1. compassion, culture commerce. We took part in a wder Heartedge workshop to $WcaSe our global partnership - %thlch expanded In 2021 to encompass churches in AUant8, the Holy Land and Brail - as well as Napa and Nvw York. We look forward to seeing how both these partnershlps devdop in 2022. Wrth the retum of chUh Mice and Childrgn's Wotk more generally. it has been good to see th8 new Children's Are being used. We have also Start a monthty youth group, and have yourg pPIe in a serving team once a month. W8 finally have a llew sound system. 1¢h is improvemerrt on the one it replaced. and l am gratef ul lo Steve Carter for overseeing this sirKe it was installed. In June it was privilege to be abte to host the ordinalron service forJessica 8ostock and Jairn Summers. We also held a service in September to mark t1 loss many have felt due to the parKlemic, as v¥ell as a tea and seNice lo mark Baby Loss week in Octobw. We h3ve restarted ourvisits to Residential Care Homes in thè parisfrL arml were able to lead a bereavement service for0 of thesèvthich had lost a large number of residents due to the pandemic. There were f urtherchanges to the team in 2021. We said goodbje to Tom and Allula Wamiirvjton and their boyB in April as they mov&J to a new parish in Great Dunmow. And in June y said goodbyeto Bob Taylorwho has retlred to Somerset after many. mary years of seNice to the Team as Lay Reader. Epping Parochial Church Council, which is the general accounl covering day-to4ay buslness. Sl. John's Heart of Epping Appeal fund, which is a restrlcted fund for development of the new church bulldlng. Frfends of Sl. John's. a reslricled fund for the Friends EPCC Roslrlcled Funds. All funds lexcepl the HOE f und) are held Sn this account. The lolal Income forall funds in 2021 was £182.435 th total expenditure of £225,972, thus giving an overall excess ol income ovar expenditure of1£43,7241. Full detalls of ouractlvltles forthe year are given in the attached f inanclal statements. The Unreslrlcled funds IG8nerdl Fund) show a small excess of income over expenditure for the year of £1,443. This y88r has shovm an incre888 in pledged giving, enabling us to further enhance our income with the addition of lax claimed from the Inland Revenue through those who pay incom8 tax. Once again. the rent te1Ved from The Box was retained in the Genoral Fund, none of which was transferred to the HOE appeal. Thè remaining expenditure for the Church njnning exp&nse8 and ulilily bills have 1 been mel through the generous giving by our p8rishion6ts, lo whom we are oxtremely gralaful. Our Parfsh Share of £110,412 was pald In full ¥thOut havlrvJ lo resort lo any funds Mlsed from the Chrfslma8 Treg Festival. The welcome relum of the Christmas Tree Festival wa8 w811 allended, enjoyed by many and a great succes8. Our thanks go to Jacqui Mortimer and her team of enthusiastic helpers. A total of £14,509.95 raised. Donations of 40OA were shar&d between Epping Forest Voluntary Action and Safer Place8.
