As we mentioned in last year's report we began ow Ph￿e 7 building proje¢t in the Spring of 2023. This has involved mostly
the major refutbishmeni of the Marsh Lounge which include a new Toof, windows. heating sy51¢m, floor and AV eouipmenL
W¢ ]Yplaced ihe wit￿oN'S in die Old House and the Sun Loiinge as well as sorting th¢ roofing on both buildings. We also
have a new car park wlth ¢hargirtg points for el¢Gtri¢ cars and a new se￿&Be system (very iinportsntl). The cost ofphase 7.
completed in Spring 2024. wa5 alx)ut 1.6 million pounds the fijnduig priniarily from fri¢nd$ and 51iPPOrters of Scargill given
over a few ye&r5.
The buildinE pn)j¢¢ts are never an end in thenwlves,. they are to ￿lfil the ministy of Scargill. The Conllnunity has grown
over the last year which ba5 eDabled us to lift the nwnb¢r of gwsls which we Gan aicommodale. It is a joy to se¢ th¢ house

Thc Charity continu¢s to make SI￿lfi¢ll￿t inv¢srm¢nts in its buildings &td plant which stand, after depreciatio￿ at £2m. We
have planning perniission for a furtjier Substantial refvrbishmtnt of the piopety and a progranune to r&is¢ whai is likely to
be in exctss of £IO¥n to financc the development. A new phase of this work w95 uodenv3y in 2023 rc>wlting in a reduLlion in
designalcd cash rcscrves. In the meantiii)e the ongoing mirti￿ry of Scargill i5 continuing and the Council believes that at l¢ast
three months. cxpcnditure should be kept in Tcserve to provide working capitsl. At the end of 2023. the e5tiFnaied
requirement for working capital was £120,000. The Council beli¢ves that the current funds are sutYi¢ient to finance the next
thTe¢ months but regular donaiions are still encouraged to siipport the on8OlllS coInmurtity mini$ty and development at
Scargill. The Finance and Bu5ineb5 con￿11#et reviews the teserves itt the light of tlie operational r¢sults and on80ing
refuibi5hmcnt on a quarterly basis to ensure adequate reserves are mainiained. The tru5tec5 b¢liev¢ that the reserves are
adequate to cope with any continuing impact of li￿ts on guest nUTnbers but ke¢p under rc8ulaT review the effect on rcscrves
a5 well as th¢ impact on the con￿}￿1ty and the fi]turc developnient Wtstk.
