Snowcase.

Cheshire Wind Orchestra pertomed a varied programme at St Thomas, Church.

Heath Festival returned in July 2022. The event was hu8e succe55, With large crowd5 in attenaan
across the whole weekend.

music, aance, drama, art, crafts and light entertainment. Staffed entirely by unpaid members, the
iommittee were assisted in the running of events. organising on-field facilities and the selling of
tickets by a troupe of around 30 volunteers from the kKal community, withoutall of whom the Festival
would not be possible.

Although named Stockton Heath Festival. the event draws audlences from a51 thé neighbouring
communltles of South Warrlngton Includlng Appleton, Walton, Grappenhall & Thelwall and bevond.

Althou8h organised by a relatively small number of local volunteers. Stockton Heath FestNal is very
much a community event, drawin8 a variety of 5UPPOrt frorn many quarters. Staging the Festival cost+
in the ￿810n of £40.(KX) each year and whilst just over half of this was recovered from ticket sales.
Stalls and catering income, the rest of the money was generated by the fundra15ing efforts of the
Festival volunteers. Critical to the Festivafs success each year is the support receNed from the l¢Kal
Parish Councils of Stockton Heath, Appleton and Walton. and from Warrington Borou8h Council via
local area fund applicatb)n, and in 2022 5UPPOrt was received in the form of a Natlonal Lottery grant.

Our patron is rim Flrth wl)0 grew up in Stockton Heath. TIM Is a screen and song wrlter famed for
Calendar Glrls and several muslcal collaborations with Gary Barlow amongst many productlons Tor
film, theatre and television. His musical THE BAND features the music of Take That, whlle A DIFFERENT
'TAGE is based around the early Ilfe of Gary Barlow and was toured nationally throu8hout 2022.
The Trust Is run by four trustees who oversee the runnlng of the charity. The charity Is an
unlncorporated association whith was fomied on 14 January 2(K19 by Trust Deed. Our trustees arfr
Mathew Forshaw (Chairl, David Craggs (Treasurer) Darren Smith {Secretaryl and Helen Dutton.
lie trestival is organlsed and run by an Or8anising Committee which is made up entlrely of volunteers
from the local communlty. It benefrts from the continuity of a number of experbenced members but is
also able to attract new members into their ranks.
New trustees can be nominated by the Or8anisin8 Committee and following nominations any new
trusteels apkM)inted by the exlstlng Trustees. All key declslons relating to the running of the charity
are made by the Twstees. All decision5 relating to the running of the festival are made by the
Organising Committee with guidance from the Trustees when required.
Finance!
A balance on the unrestricted fund account of £21.714 was carrled fonmard from 2021 to 2022. This
gave us a healthy reser¥e and a strong platform for rnoving forward.
Income for the year was £39.437 which Included £14.933 from tlcket sales and £16.OLKI from
sponsorshlp and grants. This included £5,Ci)J from the National Lottery Community Fun
Expenditure for the year was £38.029 which included £21,082 on slte costs and £9,931 on artis
perfom)ance fees.
This produced a surplus forthe year of £1.408 and reserves carried forward to 2023 stood at £23,598.
As a charitable trust, it is the policy of the Trustees to maintain a reserve that enables u5 TO p￿pa
for the following year. with a maximum reserve equivalent to about 50% of our annual expenditure.
