In the 2023124 finanaal year, apart frorn administrative costs of £154 and
bank charges for intemational money transfers. all the remainder was
spent within South Sudan and Uganda. The principal work of the charty
was..
1. Supporting the work of the Martha Primary Hearth Carg Centre
(PHCC) in Yei. South Sudan.
2. Paying for catara# operations for 100 patients carried out by
team of eye spec4alists from Juba..

4. Continuing to fund discipleship training for Christian youths in

Achievements and performance
This year the chanty continued its strategy of supporting those who
remained in Yei, South Sudan while gradually reducing its support to
those in refugee $e￿ernents in Uganda. This was in resFonse to the
growing number cl refugees vtho are retuming home to South s￿n.

In KaioKeji. thanks to a grant we received. we were al￿e to pay for the
repairs and repainting of a primary school that was abandoned in 2017
due to the insecurity. This schod will cater for children retuming from the
refugee settlements.
We continued to assist the Dittese of Yei to maintain Ihe Martha PHCC
and Martha Eye Clinic. paying for m&Yicines and stsff salaries
We have made a major investment in texher traning, in response to the
great need that there is in South Sudan for mre trained toachers. We
awarded scholarships to 33 teachers in 2023. 13 of those gradualed in
December and the renWn1￿ 20 continue their courses Ihis year.
W• continue to in close partnership with tho Episcopal Church of
South Sudan and provided fund8 for discipleship training courses as well
as for the training of dèrgy and lay18adérs. Vde conts'nu8d to Support
theological training at the Bishop Allison Theological College.
During the finan(xal year, we receiv•J SVnTal gvants from UK charities,
chartl8ble trusts. and churches m￿Y gifts from irKliNiduals. We are
grateful lor this genomus support.
Our total income was £116.657 {£130.358 in 20221231 and total
expenditure was £126,670 (£176,431 in 2022123>.
We spent less than 1% of our inc(yne on administration and bank
charges. the rernainder <99.4%) beiTrJ spent in South Sudan WKI
Uganda.
