Connecting - This keyslone challenges ihe Trust and others to wc¥k togelher around common goals and Theory of
Change.
Hidden River Festival took place aga￿ in September 23 marking its 10 Year AnnNersary. It attracted
around 3(M)O wsilors to rts 2 stages. slalls and peripaietic acts. The FestNal is a way lo¢al ￿￿￿ents
connect and was funded by though the local regeneratson partneiship.
Winterfest took place December and was a great suoxss wth arQur￿ 81XJ residents attending and
taking part in a range of aclivities.
Woodbery Wetlands Health Partnership - MHOT took a lead rcle in bulding the parlnership which seeks to
)nned local groupslres￿entslheallh professional.. together to tackle heaNh inequalities and enable access lo
51alutory ar￿ volvntary serv￿*S. K4HDT seconded a staff mernber to Ihe Hackney CVS Team to rarry oul this

tA)ntinued throughout Ihe year. ￿ wère the first charity in Hackney to partnèr %wth the Felix Project.
Re¢eivin9 the weekly delweries has reduced stress for the communal meal leaders and allowed them mthe
time to locus on organising and preparing fof the meals. as well as ensuring a sieady flow ol surplus food
ming into the Community FrKlge. The project imwoves Ihe health and wellbeing ol the benefi¢iaries and
improved each benefiuary's uJnfKlenrA in cooking and using differenl ingrediernts. It also encouraged them
lo down on meal and eat rnore vegetables and cook healthy meals al horne5. as well as enjoying Ihem
as part of the woiect.
Community Frfdge: Thrs projed works to reduce food waste. Food which cannot be sold bLrt is in dale to
be eaten is diverted from L4ndfill and delivered to the Redmond Community Cenlre. Members of the
community can then benefil from a free bag ol shopping. Excess vegetables are stored in the community
fridge and freezer for use iri community meals. The Communrty Fr￿e will operate from the Redmond
Cenlre.
Woodbery Down Regeneration MHDT coniinues to play a key rok in the 2￿year regeneration of
Woodberry Down. MHDT tthtinues to altend vawiws meeling5 suth as r￿mmUr¥CatIonS and securty.

represented Its main asset and venue for dÈlivenng communrty adiwties and raising revÈnuÈs. Its lease of the
building is not affected by govemance changes oullined below.
Employability . As part ol rts partnership wlh the London Borou9h of HaGkney Works Tearn, MHDT has let one of
the Redmond Comrnunily Centre offices lo the Team to SUPPOrt their delivery of employability se￿￿5. such as job
brokerage and help with Cvs and interview skills.
Other Spaces
Unit D, Residents Tower- MHDT is seeking a suilable tenant lor this unit.
Unit B, Hombeam - MHDT was able lo the unil to a long lemi tenanl providing educalional
semces.
Other Spaces - MHDT assisted groups to nJn other spaces suth as the Grow Bag Project and a
number ol other commvnty growing spaces. The Grown Bags have now been repla¢ed by more
durable wor￿en planters whith MHDT lunded.

Drawing upon the findings ol a rÈ¢eni communty survÈy donÈ in May 2022 with thè aim of gathering information
about the needs of the Wotxlberry Down Community. MHDT looks lo engage the ¢omrnunity in various ways. The
findings of the survey suggest that regdents would be most inteiested in Film screenings. Fitness exercise cjasses,
Arts and crafts, Communty feslivalslcuttural evenls. Gardening sessions, scKial dubslgroups. and Skill learning
aclivities. Furfhemore. several survey respondents highlighled Ihai they woukj l*e io see more famity aclivities for
children aged ¢F4. playgroups and actimties for chihjren wth autism.
Fundraising
MHDT continued to apply grants to fund a Vdriety of community. proiects. 11 has •m￿eMer1ted a Just Giving.

Impact
In order to irnprove the management and qualty of our Impacl anol Evaluation, MHDT has invesled in Time to
Spare, an impacl manaqement tool which has allsjwed the Trust lo streamline dala collection processes, produce
high qualrty impact reports and use Ihe ewdence and findings to devefop a better understanding ol the impact we
have on the local community.

MHDT transferred all staff lo London Devekyment Trust as parf of the Parent Subsidiary govemance arrangement
from 1st April 23.

The MHDT Trustees irrplernented signrficant changes lo the Memorandum and Articles of Ihe Trust which came into
effect at the beginning of Ihis financial year. MHDT has changed rts relationship with London Devek*pmenl Trust.

The MHDT Tfuslees have made Signif￿nI changes io the Memorandum and Ariides of Ihe Tntst. MHDT has
changed its relationship with London Devetoprneni Trust. These changes have been made lo ensure ffinancial
sustainability and intrease transparency of govemar*e arrangements a(¥055 the group.

1,2 Going concern
The Chari￿5 financial Statements show net surplus of £71.658 for the year12023- net deficit of £11,891) and
free reserves of£30.44512023- negalive £50.8341.
Al Ihe beginning of the year MHDT joined the London Development Trusi Group of Charrtable Companie5. As
a part of Ihi5 proces5 a TUPE Transfer of all existing MHDT staff took ￿a¢e with staff Iransferring to London
Development frust. Salaries made up the rnajority of expenditure for lrtanor House Development Trus¢ and
this move significantly reduced the amount of finafi￿ that the Trust needed to continue as a going concem. At
the Redmond Community Centre, Ihe Irustees are taking steps to re(luce costs and secure additional grant
funding so thal the charity is able to operale on a salisfactory basis. This indu*Jes changes in layout to the
Redmond Comrnunity Centre which will promde extra space for rentals. MHDT alongside London
Oevelopment Tiust is Implementing a new 0Tr4ine marketing system which wll promole the RCC and il is
anticipated thal this will Inuease bookings at Centre. The online booking system reduces the need for staff to
invoice customers directly and will flee up lime and resources lo help market the RCC locally. In addition,
Trustees took the decision lo cjose its swal enterprise Woodberry Blooms which had not be able to produce
3 surplus. The retail unit in which Woodberry 81ooms was based has now found a new tenant which will bring
income into MHDT. The Tnjst has a long-lerm partner projeci io occupy its retail unit èt Hombeam House on
Seven Sisters Road.
1.3 Charitable funds
The general lund comprises those monies. may be used t￿Ward meeting the chariiable obj'ectives ol the
company at the discretion ol ihe Management Board.
The restricled funds are mon￿$ raised for. and Iheir use reslricted to. a specific purpose or donations subje

Trade and other deblors are recognised at the settlement amounl due after any trade discount offered.
