INTRODUCTION
“For My thoughts are not your thought, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to ail our fellow parishioners of the Tabore Mar Thoma. We have witnessed some of the most extreme events around the world during the reporting year such as pandemic, political upheaval, war, conflict, climate change and all these disasters devastated normal life of the world. God has been faithful to us in his steadfast love, and we are grateful for his mercy and abundant grace that he has shown each of us during the reporting year
Along with our Vicar, Rev Thomas Baby Thandasseril and Executive Committee, each of our members of this parish worked for the betterment of the church. I present this annual report for the financial year 2022-2023 on behalf of board of trustees of Tabore Mar Thoma Church, Heywood, Manchester OLio 1QU. This report is a snippet of our activities for the financial year 2022-2023.
MALANKARA MAR THOMA SYRIAN CHURCH OF MALABAR
Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar has its head office in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India. Mar Thoma means Saint Thomas. In structure and order, the Mar Thoma church belongs to the Eastern tradition, while adheres to the spirit of reformation based on biblical doctrine. The church follows a modified version of St. James liturgy, maintains Episcopal traditions, and is ecumenical in vision and Catholic in mission. His Grace the Most Rev Dr Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan is the supreme head of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church, and he is assisted by episcopas.

Tabore Mar Thoma Church Manchester (UK) is one of the parishes of Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar which has been established in 2007 with the approval of Synod under the Dioceses of North America & Europe. Our Church is under the Diocese of North America and Europe headed by Rt. Rev Dr Isaac Mar Philoxenos, Episcopa, whose office is at Sinai Mar Thoma Centre, 2320 Merrick Avenue, New York 11566 USA.

MISSION & OBJECTIVES -
The mission of Tabore Mar Thoma church is to advance the Christian religion with the objective to provide it members with regular Christian worship service in accordance with the traditions of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar. Provide pastoral care and organize activities to promote the spiritual life of its members, enhance the ecumenical relations with the local community and churches, and make voluntary contributions for evangelistic and charitable work in United Kingdom and abroad.
OUR VICAR
Rev. Thomas Baby Thandasseril was our vicar and president from 1st May 2021 and held the post of president by virtue of his office. He was the only employee of our charity, and his primary responsibilities included the management with the support of Executive Committee Members and pastoral care to the members of the church. He co-ordinated community activities and outreach programmes to nurture the spiritual wellbeing of the community.

He is living with his family (Mrs Sunitha Thomas, Sons Master Bobin Baby ; Thomas, and Master Beslin Baby Thomas) at our vicarage. He was appointed to our church for three years. During covid times, he regularly conducted virtual
service and bible study particularly focusing the book on Galatians. We as a church extended our heartfelt thanks to our vicar and family for their spiritual support.
MEMBERSHIP
People who have their names recorded in the Parish Register of Tabore Mar Thoma church; Manchester are the members of the parish. All members over the age of 18 constitute the general body of the church. During the reporting year 2022-23 38 families have joined our church and that constituted our membership to 143 families as on 3ist March 2023.
FINANCE_
Our church is wholly dependent on the voluntary contributions of members, friends, and well-wishers. We are greatly indebted for their financial support in the form of donation and monthly stewardship contribution. For the reporting year the parish received a total income of £135004.35 against the total expenditure of £143682.03 with a net Deficit of £8677.68 The accounts on pages 1 to 6 provide the statement of Income and Expenditure and the Balance Sheet of the Parish for the year 2022-2023. During the year 2022-2023, we had 130 members who made monthly voluntary contribution. The parish is grateful to the members and well-wishers for their wholehearted financial support.

WORSHIP SERVICE
Our Worship Service was conducted regularly every Sunday at 10.00 am on First, Second, Third and Fifth Sunday and at 3.00 pm on Fourth Sunday. Every Third and Fifth Sunday we have our Holy Qurbana in English. Rev Thomas Baby Achen is our Chief celebrant.
PARISH DAY CELEBRATION:
Parish Day of our Church for the year 2022-23 was held on 20 November 2022, Chief Guest for the occasion was Rev Saju Chacko, Vicar of Hermon Mar Thoma Church, Midlands. Refreshments were provided after the Meeting.
PARISH CONVENTION:
Convention of our church was held from 18 November to 20th November 2022 Rev Saju Chacko Achen, Vicar of Hermon MTC Midlands was-the Main Speaker for the Event.

HARVEST FESTIVAL OF OUR CHURCH
Harvest festival of our church was held on o9! & 16 October 2022
immediately after the holy communion service. Many of our members brought items for auction and the total amount raised from the auctions was £10250 for financial year 2029-23,

* CAROL ROUNDS
During this financial year we had our Door to Door Carol rounds between 25% November to 23™% December 2022. Special thanks to our Achen for his
leadership and the members of all our prayer groups for all their support and participation.
CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE
We celebrated Christmas carol service on 18th December 2022. Rev Fr Eldo P Varghese, St Marys Orthodox Church, UK was the chief guest, and he gave an inspiring Christmas message. We as a church extend our thanks to Rev Fr Eldo , P Varghese. We extended our special thanks to all choir members who partake in the carol service.
Christmas Holy Communion service was conducted on 25.12.2022 at 7 a.m, fellowship meal was provided after the Holy Communion Service.

WATCH NIGHT AND NEW YEAR SERVICE
We celebrated watch night service on 31st December 2022 from 10pm onwards. Around 150 families joined the service, and our members gave their testimony during the service.
CHOIR
Sing to the LORDa new song; Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Psalms 96:1.
Choir is assisting for church service on every Sunday. We have every Sunday choir practice session regularly which is led by choir leaders. We had our choir members’ dedication service. Subin Achen ordination service was led by ‘ Thirumeni and all choir members was dedicated for ordination service. Choir has actively participated for Rev Subin Mathews ist Holy communion Service (Puthen Qurbana). Choir lead for Christmas Carol service all the choir members attended the service. Choir has actively participated for Ecumenical Xmas Carol was held @ St James MarThoma Church on 27 December 2022. Our Choir has Senior & Junior Choir Group. Junior Choir Group always assist in English Holy Communion Service every third and fifth Sunday.

03) YOUTH FELLOWSHIP

We conducted our annual youth meeting on 21St May 2022 after the holy mass and our President Rev. Thomas Baby chaired the meeting. Annual Report for the year 2021-2022 was presented by Miss. Pretty and was passed by the
general committee.

Zonal Youth Retreat
Our youth fellowship members participated in the Zonal Youth Retreat conducted on the 15h of October at Peterborough church. Due to the close cooperation of our members, we were able to stand out at the zonal youth retreat as the youth League with the highest number of participants from the UK-Europe Zone. Special thanks to Mr. Pramod Verghese for accompanying with the youths.
Youth Sunday: On 16" of October, we celebrated our Youth Sunday and the goth Anniversary of Marthoma Yuvajana Sakhyam at our church. Youth Fellowship members took the initiative to lead in assisting, reading lessons,
singing choir, sermon, and prayer. A big thanks to all who volunteered.
Triathlon
As part of the Zonal Youth events, the inter church youth competition Triathlon was held on the 264 of November. Various teams from our youth fellowship have participated for Singing, Football, Quiz and Aptitude competitions. Our under-18 football has won the third prize and team consisted of Samson, Samuel, Timothy, Jerry, David, Nevin and Shane. Our Quiz team have also won the gid prize and the team consisted of Jeswin, Bobin, Merin, Reuben, Riya, Thejus and Christy.
Christmas Carol — 2022
As part of our youth league’s initiative, we sang a carol song for our church’s Christmas celebrations: Thanks to all those participated for the same.
Youth Seminar
Dr. Sunny Stephen prepared a special seminar session for our youth league on the topic ‘Challenges faced by Youth’ and was presented by Mr. Thejus and Mr. Bobin on the 024 of April, Sunday, after the service.

Our Youth league has been officially registered at the Marthoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Office for the year 2023-2024. The list was published at our church on the 8th and isth of January.

04) EDVAKA MISSION
Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists’ Association formed in 1924. Bishop Abraham Mar Thoma was the ardent supporter of this movement and Titus IT Mar Thoma Metropolitan sent a circular to all parishes encouraging the formation of branches of the Association. Rev. C. P. Philipose Kassisa was the first president, Sadhu Kochu Kunju the secretary and Kolakottu John Upadesi the travelling secretary.

The object of this association is that every member of the Church should be a witness to Jesus Christ, whatever his occupation may be. Those who volunteer to be members of the Association meet together in each parish at least once a week for fellowship, intercessory prayer, Bible study and sharing experiences. Then they go out and contact those who work with them and share the Gospel. Edavaka Mission meeting could not conducted in the church regularly. However, meetings were arranged online by our vicar. Mr Abraham John, Secretary for the Edvaka Mission has actively organised our church's convention with the support of our vicar and members. 05) SEVIKA SANGAM (LADIES WING)
2022-23 has been a blessed year for the Sevika Sangam.
Mrs Susan Parayil led the Sevika Sangam as the Vice President and was supported by Mrs Elizabeth Jacob as the Secretary and Mrs Rojy Santosh as the Treasurer.
The Sevika Sangam has played an active role in participating in all the church activities throughout the year — in particular, during the holy week where its members prepared the required food for both Good Friday and Easier services.
We also hosted the zonal Sevika Sangham one day conference on Sept 17, 2022.
There were around 150 participants from all the UK parishes. Our main speaker was Rev. Johnson M John, who delivered a blessed message around the theme ‘Women: Co-workers of God’. A bible quiz was also conducted which was won by our very own parish. All of the vicars from the different UK Parishes were also in attendance.
We also celebrated Sevikha Sangam day on 18 September 2022 — members assisted with the worship service and delivered a fruitful message from the word of God. We also led the coffee shop following the service.
We have also actively participated in various charitable deeds throughout the year such as raising Rs. 40,000 for the Visaranti Bhavan. We are also actively supporting a nursing student at the Hoskote Mission Institute of Nursing by contributing £1,000 a year towards their education.
We also helda pickle sale to raise funds for the various needs of our church.
During the year, we held an online Sevika Sangam meeting every month until December 2022. From January onwards, we met in person, after the service on the 4% Sunday of every month.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Rev. Thomas Baby & Kochamma for their continued guidance and support during the year as well as all the members who have sincerely taken part and assisted in all the activities. We thank the Lord almighty for using the Sevika Sangam for building his kingdom.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School takes a main part in bringing up our children and encourages them in their spiritual life. The Sunday School is held every Sunday after the worship. We have around 130 students coming regularly and there are 13 classes running with dedicated teachers.

Sunday School begins at soon after holy communion on every Sunday apart from fourth Sunday we have Sunday school starts at 13:30 hours before holy communion with a common session, there is singing sessions prior to dispersing for the classes.

We are following the curriculum published by the Diocese ofNorth America and Europe and conduct the UK and Europe Zonal examination accordingly and our academic year is September to July. Children learn about the Marthoma history by studying the Marthoma Foundation and Vision which is also part of the Diocesan curriculum. We have conducted final exams on July 3rd, 2022, and the children who got first second and third prizes also given.
The Sunday School this year conducted various activities under the guidance of Rev. Thomas Baby.
One day retreat: We have conducted a one-day retreat at Church under the leadership of our Achen and Mr Thejas George Palooran. As this was the first event for Sunday school children after Covid it allowed a great opportunity for all the children to come together and many of them said they enjoyed it.
Sports Day: On the 21st of May 2022 we have conducted a sports day at Heaton Park and more than 100 people including children attended. Mr Denny Thomas and Mrs Kripa Sara John took the leadership of conducting all the activities on that day and prizes were distributed for first, second and third place in each competition.
Sunday school Exam: The exam was conducted on Sunday 3" July 2022 at our parish. Question papers and marking schemes for all classes were prepared and received from the zonal team. Our teachers acted as invigilators for the exam,

and we were able to run the exam in an organised and timely manner with assistance from the teachers and students. The top 3 scorers from each class were awarded a trophy after the results were released.
Teachers Training: Our teachers also had an opportunity to attend the annual teachers training day which was held on Saturday 24 September hosted by Hermon MTC at St Stephens Indian Orthodox Church, Birmingham. The main programme leader for the day was Rev Sanoj Babu Mathew.
VBS: TMC Sunday school organized VBS at Heywood, Oldham from the 27 of October 2022 to the 30 October 2022. Wehad 103 registrations and around 40 teachers for the event for which the theme was “Ambassadors of Christ- 2Cor 5:20” and we are thankful to our leaders Glanet Ann Varghese and BenitaJoseph for providing their leadership as VBS directors.

World Sunday School Day: We joined all our Zonal parishes on Nov 5%, 2022, to celebrate World Sunday School Day in Liverpool - around 35 people from our church attended. There were sessions for children, parents and teachers.
Christmas programs: The Christmas carol event was held on the 18t of December 2022. All our Sunday school children were able to perform a variety of programs in four different groups.
Talent Contest: We have conducted a talent contest on 18th February 2023 at our church. 99 children participated in a variety of different competitions and

were judged by two members from neighboring parishes. The winners of these competitions were also awarded prizes in the proceeding days.

KASSESSA ORDINATION:
Our parish member Rev Dn Subin Mathew Parayil, S/o Mrs & Mr P.K. Mathai Parayil was ordained a the Kassessa of Mar Thoma Syrian Church on 11 June 2022. His ordination as Kassessa has been conducted on 11th June,2022 at Tabore Mar Thoma Church, Manchester, UK by Rt.Rev Dr Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa of North America & Europe Zone. It was a proud moment for the Mar Thoma community in UK, especially Tabore Mar Thoma Church because he is the first Kassessa from our parish.
During the Kaseessa ordination Very Rev V.T. John Achen and Rev M J Cherian Achen were attended along with other Achens from various Mar Thoma Parishes in UK Zone.
May Subin Achen life be filled with love, hope and happiness. May the Almighty God help him to work in His vineyard and the Holy Spirit strengthen him as the messenger of God.

STUDENT DEDICATION:
Each Year our church celebrates the student dedication service either in the first week or second week of September (New Academic Year).
We, the board of trustees are extending our heartfelt appreciation to the students who are studying in UK schools, colleges and universities who have achieved good marks and admission in higher studies. May the Almighty protect and guide them in their future career.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:
During the financial year we had 33 children took first holy communion. The Holy Qurbana was celebrated by Rt. Rev Dr Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa of North America & Europe Zone on 12 June 2022.
ONAM CELEBRATION:
During this financial year we celebrated our Onam festival on 3 September 2022 @ Sale Moor Community Centre. Around 90 families of our church attended the Onam Feast.

During the reporting financial year, some of the members of Tabore MTC participated in the Mar Thoma Meet held at the Cotton green church Tamworth on 1*t of October 2022.
LENT WEEK SERVICES:
Lent meditation services were organised from 31% March 2023 to 2"4 April 2023,
Main Speaker for the event was Dr Sunny Stephen.
NEW FAMILIES
On behalf of Tabore Mar Thoma Church, we wholeheartedly welcome the families who joined to the fellowship of Tabore Mar Thoma Church during the financial year 2022-23. In total there were 38 families and 3 individuals joined.

We are most grateful to all who have continually support us spiritually and financially, especially to His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan and the Diocesan Bishop Rt. Revd. Issac Mar Philoxenos.
CONCLUSION
Jesus Christ, the light of the world equips us to impari the radiance of His glory through His body, the Church, in this world. As members of the Church, we are recipients of this light and glory. The God of grace has designated us to be in this world as a people belonging to God that we may declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His wonderful light (2 Peter 2:9).
We praise God for His abundant showers of blessing-on-us.during the past year with our humble beginning. May God empower us to take on greater responsibilities in our future endeavours and to emanate His light through our life and witness.
