2024.
Structure, Governance and Management
Organisation
The organis*ion is managed by the Trustees who meet regulady to discuss strategic matters and various aspects of
responsibilty wh￿h are allocated between them.
We have referffd to the guidan￿ wntained in Ihe Chanty Commission's general guidance on public benefit when
reviewing our aim and objectivès and in planning our future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how
planned acttvities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set.

The Trustees are committed to an ongoing poliw of identtying, monitoring and managing risks that might adverse
affect the operation and reputation of the Charity, assessing the likelihood of occurrence and means of mitsgating
them. The Trustees are satisfied that appropriate structu￿$ s￿ in place to identify and manage the major risks facing
the Charrty.
The Trustees have assessed the going concern of the Charity. The Ctta￿ty has continued to recelve its dlrect debit
donations during this period and is due to receive its gift aid from HMRC for the year ending 30 September 2024.
Taking all these into ￿count, the Trustees are confident of the Charity's going concem.
Objectives and activities
The objective for which the Charity is established are to be furthered primarily in the United Kingdom but also in
Punjab {Indial and other parts of the world as the directors from time to time see fiL
The Charity's objectives lo be furthered in the area of benefit are..
To advance the Sikh religion by pffaching and promoting its teachings. establishing and maintaining a
Gurdwara or Gurdwaras. conducting servlces, education programmes and observances based on the tenets
and doctrines of the faith. ané establishing and maintaining religious schools of instruction for children, young
people and adu￿$.
To relieve povety by providing food, clothing, shelter and olher necessities of lrfe to people In poverty or
without visible means of supwrt and to the elderly, ill and disabled people of low or modest Incom8 and in
need.
To advance education. in particular by establishing, maintaining or support public elementary schools and to
work cooperatively with Governments in the United Kingdom and other countries, and with other charitable
organisations to accomplish these purposes.
To promote health and relieve sl¢kness.

Reserves Pollcy
The funds are lo be used by the Charity to fund the future objectives of the Charity. The Trustees remain aware of
the level of the funds and confirm that all reserves shall be used lo pursue the Charity's future oblectives. The year
ended with restricted funds of £992,393.
Hlghllghts of the perlod
Duting the period, the ch3rty continued with the refurbi5hmenls of its propety {which 15 Used specifically for
Charitable purposes) - costs of £S8,684 were incurred and have been capitali5ed.

R8strictsd Funds
The ftjll accounts and the Independent examination report start on page 6. The Statement of Recommended
Pracb'ce for Charitie5 (SORP) 2005 has been adopted in preparing this Annual Report 3rKI Financial Statements.
Restricted income of £360,409 was received durtng the period" resources expended were £357.732', total restricted
funds at the year end arnounied to £2,677.
Futuro Plans
The Trustees and Management will continue to strengthen the core actNilies of the Charity. The Charity will
continue, where possible, to refvrbish the woperty in order to develop more Classrooms for Children, young people
and adults for education purposes. This is a continued process.
The Trustees are ¢onfident that the charity has sufficient resources available to be able to continue to meet its
commitments and deliver upon its aims and objectives.

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with the
Companies Act 2006 and for being satisfied that the financial statements give a true arKI fair view. The Trustees
are also responsible for preparing the financial statement5 in accordan￿ wrth Unit8d Kingdom Accounting
standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice}-
Company law requlres the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a Ifue and
fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the
charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required lo:
select suitable accoLtnting policies and then appty them consistenly.,
make judgments and estimates that are reasonable and pmdent..
slate whether applicable acLounling standards have been followed, subject to any material departures
disclosed and explained in the financial ststements.,
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the
charity will continue in business.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that show and explain the Charity's
transactions, disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity, and enable them
lo ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006.
They are also responsible for safeguarding Ihe assets of the charity and hence for tsking reasonable steps for the
prevention and deleclion of fraud and other irregularities.

As the chanty's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts., you consider that the audit
requirement of section 43{21 of the Charities Act 1993 {the Act} does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine
the accounts (under Section 4313) lal of the 1993 Acll and to state on the basis of procedures specified in the
general directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43 (7) Ibl of the Act. whether particular
matters have come to our attention.
Basis of independent examlner's report
My examination was carried out in 8¢cordan¢e wilh the general directions given by the Charity Commlssloners. An
examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts
presented with those records. It also incIL￿e8 consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the a￿￿nIs,
and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provide all the eviden￿ that would be required in an audtt, and consequenmy I do not express an audlt opinlon on

for the year in question in accordance with section 476 of the Companies kt 2006. The directors acknowledge
their responsibility for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect lo accounting records and for the
preparation of the accounts. These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions
applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.
