Objeetlves gnd AinLq
The objecttves and aims of the Charity are:
To raise fimds for the managanent, upkeq) and promotion of an institution known ￿ The
Unique Hi)me in India. Th¢ aim of that institution is to provide mornl, social, cultural and
c4x￿omIc uplift of unwanted Orphan￿ and abandoned fmle ¢hildr¢n without distinction of casts,
creed or religion.
To raise awareness of the instimtion known as The Unique Home in [￿lia so that fi￿ding atKI
aid are donat￿ directty to that institution.
Each year the trustees review the activities of the charity in order to ￿Ure that tlry continue to
refie¢t the objectives s& out in the trust deed. In carrying out this review the trustees have c(rt]sid¢red
th¢ Charity Commission's general 8uidance on public benefrt and. in particu]&r, its suppkmentary
guidance on the prevention or relief of poverty for the public benefft and the drnft 8uidance on publi
benefit aTMJ moral or ethical beli¢f 5ySt¢ms.
It is the trustees, opinion that the operation of the Cllarity in its present forni is for th¢ public b¢n¢fit
u]yJeT the principles sd out in the Charity Commissii)n guidanc¢. The w()rk of the trust gives rise to
public benefit by providing SUPPOrt for The Unique Home in India which in turn provides free
accommodatioffj sustenanc< moral guidance support for unwant￿1 orphaned and aban(loned female
Childr￿ in India. The girls are also afford￿ th¢ opportunity to attain high educ8tiOll81 standards. Teslament
to this is th¢ Success of two of the oldff girls have been in long tffm car¢ at Unique Home. One of
whom attained a Masters Degree at College in Jalandhar, whilst the other S￿d1ejj at L￿S Beckett
University. Leeds UK and was suecessful in obtaining 8 B&tchelor of Arts, First Class Hon￿rS Degree in
July 2018. Both gir]s are now reSp￿t1Vety employ￿ in Toronto and VancL)uver, Canada.
Volunteers
Th¢ charty is grateful for the efforts of it5 volunteers who are involved in raising fvtkls and runnin8 the
charity. In previous years, volunteer's annual efforts amounted to approximately 500 hours in total. It
has always proved difficult to attribut¢ in an ¢¢onomi¢ valu4 this ¢ontribution to the charity. However,
because of circumstances beyond the control of the clwrity wljich curtailed fundraising ¢ampai8n
voluntttr hours hav¢ reduced approximately by half. Th¢ trustees. thuns¢lv¢5 volunteffj ensure that
best value is deriv￿ from the effects of all volunteers.
Achievement and perfornwn¢e
Th¢ Charity has finally managed to provide a substantial grant dr￿1 to Unique Hom¢ in Punjab totslling
£201,475. This is a great achievement this year with funds being useAI f(t the purchase of land which
expands the home and provides an OPp￿￿nIty to build an ducational hub in the ￿tllre.
The &War￿¢s$ of Unique Home has wntInU￿ strongly through ivs social M￿1& platfornis. The
implementation and operations of the platfOrn￿ for Unique Horne itself has also been really help￿1 in
bwsting awareness worldwide.
Tr direct debit ￿ntributIOnS have remained st￿Y and this has helFKd th¢ r¢s¢rves of the charity.
The r￿rnn￿en( of events in the UK has been posilive in tern￿ of fundraising and more ImE￿antlY.
for gaining new SUPFQrters in the UK f(Y Unique Home itself.

Acbievement and perform¥nce (Continued)
Social Media platfornis remain active and ongoing with individuals arranging ad-hoc events to support
the Home from time to time on an ongoing b&sis.
The annual Cake and Candles Campaign remains strong and this year Ivas supported very well by
way of posts on social media and photographs being provided by a numb¢r of support¢rs of UK
Friends of Unique Home (Pulljab) This annual ¢v¢nt brings joy to th¢ chilthen every 24th April.
The Home treats this day* as th¢ birthday of all th¢ir children. Supwrt for the initiativ¢ was world-wide
With groups frorn New Zealand participating.
Re8erYes Policy
Funds are collectsd through voluntary donations and it is this in¢om¢ thal funds th¢ work of the charity.
The net outgoing resourc¢s for th¢ year amounted to £138.825. which reduced the general reserves at
the end of the financial year lo £50.501.
With regard to those genernl reserves, a policy has been established whereby the unrestricted funds
nol committed or invested in tangible fixed &8sets. the free resetwes. held by the charity should be
between 12 and 24 months of the resources ¢xp¢nded annually. This equates to £15,000 to £30,000
in free r¢serves. It is felt tha( at this level, it would be possible to continue the current activities of
the charity in th¢ event of a Si￿lfiCant drop in donations. This would then give sufficient time to
consider how the fjjnding would be replaced or the activities changed.
Principal Funding Sources
The primary funding source is donations from the charity's supporters. The funds from this source
are used to provide phased funding donations to the Unique Home in order to achieve the objectives
of th¢ charity.
Overall, the tnjstees are satisfied with these resuhs and we will ¢nde8vourto maintain this level of
income in future.
Future Developments
The Charity's websifr and social media sites continue to be reviewed with the intention of updating
the fornlat and contenL when and if deemed appropriate.
lThere remains the possibility that that on¢ of th¢ swior m¢m￿r$ of th¢ Hom¢s Manag¢m¢nt Committ¢¢
will hopefully attend th¢ UK in the period ahead again, this will undoubtedly be helpfvl in hel￿tenIng the
awareness of the Home.
Other plans include a strong possibility of long terni UK friends upgrnding or even developing a new
website.
The aim this year is to consolidate and work tow&rds organising more live fundTaising events
