Activities
The Trust has ensured the safekeeping of funds raised by Abingdon Town Amateur Boxing Club for shared community sports facilities. The Trust began distributing funds for sport in Abingdon in 2021/22. In September 2022 the boxing club was relaunched and the trust helped the relaunch. Plans are now progressing for a new sports hall and the trust will consider using funds for that purpose.
Objects: The Promotion Of Community Participation In Healthy Recreation For The Benefit Of The Inhabitants Of Abingdon, Oxfordshire, By The Provision Of Facilities For Playing Sport. To Promote For The Benefit Of The Inhabitants Of Abingdon And The Surrounding Area The Provision Of Facilities For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation Of The Public At Large In The Interests Of Social Welfare And With The Object Of Improving The Conditions Of Life Of The Said Inhabitants.'to Advance Such Charitable Purposes (according To The Law Of England And Wales) As The Trustees See Fit By Making Grants And Awards To Groups Serving Individual Persons, And To Individual Persons, Under The Age Of 25 Years Living In And Around Abingdon To Develop Their Mental, Physical And Moral Capabilities Through Leisure Time Activities.
