## **Trustees Report Year ending Sep 7th 2021** 

The Friends of Valley Gardens is a volunteer group of parents and teachers, who collectively raise funds solely for the benefit of the school. 

Income is generated through the supply and sale of school uniforms throughout the year, along with the traditional school activities, such as Christmas Fayres, tombolas and school discos etc. 

Each year the Senior Leader Team at the school will nominate a project that the FoVG will try and fund. In recent years, this has been achieved successfully with the refurbishment of a new computer suite, modernisation of the school playground area and this year the bulk purchase of IPADs.  Staff are also encouraged to place bids periodically for funding for extra items that assist in the delivery of the curriculum. 

Despite the problems that Covid caused, this year has been a success with the income generated reaching a new level. 

Looking forward to the next financial year, one of the main streams of income, namely the sale of uniform is now going to be manged directly by the school and will no longer show in the future FoVG accounts.

The donations to the school of £9609.97 are made up of staff funding bids of £9031.97 and a donation to the sponsored read of £578.00. 

Floating uniform stock circa £3154 @ cost price (around £4-5k sales) currently held in store 

End of term activity week consisted of ice lolly sales, tuck shop, 'soak the teachers' and the beach party 

We paid a large invoice to M&S of £5,510.00. This was an unaccounted historic invoice, which has resulted in the expenditure figure for this year's uniform to be higher than usual.

## **Independent Auditors Report** 

21[st] April 2022 – 

Outgoing Chair from Friends of Valley Gardens presented a series of bank statements covering the period September 2020 to September 2021. 

After examining the documents I was able to oversee the attached banking conciliation document, and confirm  it accurately reflects the information supplied.
