Trustees’ Report

The Trustees of Aid 4 Orphans are pleased to submit their report and accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023.

Charitable Objects

The relief of financial hardship among people living or working in orphanages in developing countries by providing such persons with goods/services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means. The relief of financial hardship, either generally, or individually, of people living in developing countries by making grants of money for providing or paying for items, services or facilities. The relief of the sick-poor living in orphanages in developing countries either generally or individually through the provision of grants, goods, or services. To advance the education of the pupils at schools in developing countries by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities (not required to be provided by the local education authority) for education at the schools.

Main activities

To provide food, medical, financial and educational support to the children, staff and families at orphanages and schools in Kenya. To provide classrooms, learning resources, computers and financial assistance to these orphanages and schools. To support families living in poverty.

Review of the year

During 2023 whilst still supporting the now reduced number of children who live at the Child of Mercy Children’s Home, we have been focussing on students who are at college and university and those living in the community. This is in line with the recognised move away from orphanages and to assisting children to live with family members during holiday periods.
