## **Charitable Objects**

The relief of financial hardship among people living or working in orphanages in developing countries by providing such persons with goods/services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means. The relief of financial hardship, either generally, or individually, of people living in orphanages in developing countries by making grants of money for providing or paying for items , services or facilities. The relief of the sick-poor living in orphanages in developing countries either generally or individually through the provision of grants, goods, or services. To advance the education of the pupils who attend schools in developing countries by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities (not required to be provided by the local education authority) for education in the schools.

## **Main activities**

To provide food, medical, financial and educational support to the children, staff and families at orphanages and schools in Kenya. To provide classrooms, learning resources, computers and financial assistance to these orphanages and schools. To support families living in poverty or affected by HIV.

## **Review of the year**

2020 has been a challenging year due to the Pandemic and resulting loss of income at the Children's Centre so we have supported them as much as possible with food deliveries and contributions towards salaries and general running costs. We have assisted in opening a garage as an income generating project to support the Children's Centre which is hoped will cover around a third of their salaries next year.

We have given some support to a few families in Likoni following loss of their livelihoods during lockdown. Our School sponsorship Scheme assisted 32 students at Primary School, 21 at Secondary School and 14 at College and University. We continue to provide the premises for the Children and Staff who live and work at The Child of Mercy Children's Centre.
