MOUNT CHURCH ACTIVITY REPORT

ACTIVITIES

Annual General Meeting.

The Annual General Meeting of the Church was held on the 14th May 2023. The Financial Review report and the activity report, covering the period 1st April 2022 till 31st March 2023 was presented to the AGM.

Malayalam Worship.

Malayalam worship was held every Sunday from 10.30am till 1pm at Shield Road Primary School, Bristol. Around 150 members attend the Malayalam service and the numbers have increased significantly over the last one year since Mount Church welcomed new individuals who relocated to the area for educational and job purposes.

English Worship.

We conduct an English worship service every Sunday from 03.00 PM to 04.30 PM at Shield Road Primary School, Bristol. This is mainly focussing on our younger generation and the local English community.

Sunday School

Sunday school was conducted every Sunday from 09.00am till 10.30am. Classes were allocated based on the age of children and this is led by teachers who are members of Mount Church Bristol.

Youth Group

Youth Bible Study was conducted every Friday at 6pm, except the Friday when the church fasting prayer is planned. IMPACT (Youth group) was held on Second Friday of every month at 6pm on zoom. Mount Church Bristol organised young adults meeting once every month, and this is conducted both face to face and on zoom.

Home Group

Mount Church Bristol held home group meetings in Weston Super Mare on every Wednesday at 7.30pm and in Bristol at 6.15pm on one Thursday every month.

Sisters Meeting

The ladies of our church gathered on zoom and occasionally face to face once in a week to pray, and these meetings are under the leadership of one of the sisters in our church which keeps rotating every year.

Intercessory Prayer and Bible Study

Every Saturday we gather at 6.00 pm on Zoom. The first weekend of every month is dedicated for 3-day fasting prayer and during these meetings we invite other ministers also to speak. In addition to this a daily morning prayer is conducted from 6am every morning.

Sunday School and Youth Anniversary

Mount church Bristol was able to conduct the anniversary of Sunday school and youth group on 1st January 2024 at Kewstoke Village Hall, Weston Super Mare. Both children and adults took part in various programmes to make this event a quality time for fellowship.

Community Outreach Program

Mount Church conducted several mission-oriented outreach programs (Flash mob) at Bristol City Centre and Weston Super Mare, mainly involving the children and young adults and these events were greatly accepted by the local public.

Church & Sunday School Camp

Mount Church held a Church and Sunday School camp at Cefn Lea Christian conference centre from 29th May till 2nd June. Approximately 120 members attended this camp and separate guest speakers were invited to lead the sessions for children and adults.

Charity and Mission Support 1st April 2023- 31st March 2024

During this time Mount Church Bristol supported the below four missions as part of the support for missions in India.

(1) Mahanehdan Fellowship, Mumbai, India-£1000

(3) CAFI (Christian Action for India)-£1000

(4) Operation Gospel ministry – Bikaner, North India-£1000

(5) A special mission offering was taken on 31st January 2023 and £4935 was collected on this offering. A further contribution added from church to make the total amount to £6500 and this was donated towards the building projects for 6 mission fields in North India.

In addition to this below are the other support that Mount Church Bristol was able to fulfil last year:

• Bible Translation Project: Mount church is working with Wycliffe India to support the Mirgan New Testament bible translation project and the total amount paid for financial year ending on 31st March 2024 was £1505.00.

• £1605 has been collected by Mount Church Bristol sisters and this has been given towards medical treatment for individuals in need.

• £788 was collected through social action project and this was paid to support a feeding centre in Odisha, India.

• There were several other requests for financial support from various individuals and Mount Church Bristol paid £11837 towards this during the last financial year. These include support for children’s ministry, medical treatment, church building project, housing support etc.

Charity Support in UK

During the period 1st April 2022 till 31st March 2024, Mount Church allocated £1500 towards charity support in UK and this has been given to the below three charities.

(2) One25 - This is a charity who works in rehabilitating the most marginalised women from the streets of Bristol

(3) Barnabas Fund – UK charity that support the most needy and persecuted Christians around the world.

Supporting the local Charity – Soul Food Bristol.

Members of Mount Church were and are continuing to help in Soul Food Bristol, which is a little church built around a weekly community meal to help anyone who is in need.

Independent Examiner's Report to the trustees of Mount Church Bristol

I report on the receipt and payment accounts for the year ended 31st March 2024 set out on page 4

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner:

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993(the 1993 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

Basis of the independent examiner’s report:

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items of disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statements above.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements
