## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025**
The trustees of the charity presents their annual report and the financial statements for the year to 31 March 2025.
## **Structure, governance, and management**
Caribbean Sports Club (Sheffield) Limited was incorporated on 30 August 2007, its memorandum and articles of association govern it. Its legal status is that of a company limited by guarantee.
It has a Trustee Board which was elected at its first Annual General Meeting in August 2007 and is ultimately accountable for the conduct of the organisation.
Serving trustees in the reporting period were:
Janet Angel (appointed 7 March 2017) Samuel Gittens (appointed 7 March 2017) Milton Samuels MBE (appointed 7 March 2017) Molly McFarlane (appointed 1 January 2022) Des Smith (appointed 21 February 2023)
## **Objects, activities and performance**
The Promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Sheffield and in particular those habitants of African-Caribbean origin or descent by the provision of facilities for playing amateur sports which are capable of improving both physical and mental health.
## **Statement of Trustees' responsibilities**
The Trustees are required by law to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity as at the end of the financial year and of the surplus or deficit of the Charity.
In preparing those financial statements the Trustees are required to:
- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP;
- state whether the applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;
- make judgments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and
- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue its work.
The trustees are also responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and which are sufficient to show and explain the Charity's transactions and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006 / Charities Act 2021, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the charity's constitution.
They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **ACCOUNTANTS’ REPORT**
In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006 and in accordance your instructions, we have prepared for your approval the accounts of Caribbean Sports Club (Sheffield) Ltd for the year ended 31 March 2025 which comprise the Income and Expenditure Account, the Balance Sheet and the related notes from the company’s accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us.
You consider that the company is exempt from an audit for the year ended 31 March 2025. You have acknowledged, on the balance sheet, your responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts, these responsibilities include preparing accounts that give a true and view of the state of affairs of the company at the end of the financial year and of its deficit for the year then ended.
We have not carried out an audit or a review of the accounts of A Caribbean Sports Club (Sheffield) Ltd. For this reason, we have not verified the accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us, and we do not, therefore, express any opinion on the statutory accounts.
