NORTH HEATH FAMILY CHURCH (Registered Charity No. 1127133)

Annual Report – 1st October 2023 to 30th September 2024

Introduction

The main objective of North Heath Family Church is to share the Christian faith with the people of Northumberland Heath and beyond. The church aims to be a positive expression of faith in the community through a practical demonstration of the love of God to all those we come into contact with. The church also seeks to train and equip members in order to prepare them for ministry.

Community Activities

This will be our 17[th] year of hosting Fun Days – providing activities for the local community every other month. The event consists of a bouncy castle, craft, assorted games and activities with tea and coffee – all provided free.

We have seen many families regularly attend which has provided an opportunity for the church to connect with the community. Many parents have commented that they look forward to having a safe place to bring their children. The fact that it is free has allowed families with low incomes to join in the fun.

Small Business Promotion Events

The traders of Northumberland Heath have periodically held events to promote local businesses. The church has been invited to be a part of these events providing fun activities for families and therefore giving us another opportunity to serve the community.

Finance

North Heath Family Church is financed entirely by the generosity of the church members, for which we are extremely grateful. We have a policy not to raise money through external fund-raising events. In fact, we regularly give to other charities and also support families that are experiencing financial hardship.

Two of the main charities supported are:-

We are also part of a network of churches internationally (known as Church of the Nations) and we contribute towards the organisation and administration of joint events.

Further information about the objectives of these charities can be viewed on the Charity Commission’s website.

Finally it is with great joy that we can report that the mortgage on the building was paid off in March 2024.

Final Comments

On a personal note, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the countless hours that the members of the church give every year free of charge – in addition to the generous financial donations. Without these willing volunteers we would not be able to continue our work of spreading the good news message to the community.
