The Workin£ton Heritage Group Limited (A company limited by zuarantee} Report of the trustees {incorporatin8 the dirertors report) for the year ended 31 March 2025 The Museum h35 continued to provide the kKol community with an essential social service as well as a heritage centre albeit that thère was a SF8nifi¢ant downturn in turrrf)ver over the past two trading years due to the reduction in weddirTry and some of our re8ular users for meetings etc Trieia has continued to acti¥ely pursue altemaiive e¥enis to hèlp SUp￿ement the £30K annual grant which we receive from Cumberland Council and which has not been increased in the last 12 years. The café continues to open 3 days in the week and has continued to become very popular with local resldtnts and user grgup5 who are now makin8 re8ular visits. The hard wofk by Tricia •nd the team of volunteer5 ha5 silnificantly contrlbuted towards o positive financial outcome to the year. The Mu5euFn remains ¥ very ptspular venue for local user 8roups. schools and visltors to the area which aligns wrth the wishe5 of Helena Thomp50n, albeit at affordable prices and the fact that we cannot charge an entrance fee for vlsltors. The lack of bvlldlngs mafjntenan￿ o¥ef the wevlous years was hl8hll8hted to ABC In 2022 whlch resulted in a detailed survty which must have addressed the si8nificant damp issues in both ends of the educatlon gallery and the rottin8 window frarnes etc. Cumberland Council have commissHJned work to efadlcate thè damp in the two chimneys and painted the exierior end walls whilst the scaffold was up but we Slill await essenlial work to be completed to other parts ol the buildin8. The Museum staff and ¥oluntÈers have ti)niinued to keep the internal housekeepin8 of the bulldln& an4Y 8arden5. in impeccable condition. wthich is often remarked on by visitors. Durln8 the year. under and agreement wlth HMRC and the Arts Ctyjncll. the Luck of Workin8ton wa5 returned to us, which ori8lnally came from Workin8ton Hall and is an important part of the Town s and the Hall'5 hlsiory.
