ended 31 March 2023. The trustees have adopted the provlsions of the Statement of Recommended
PractTce ISORPI "Accounting and Rewrting by Charities" IFRS 1021 in preparing the annual report
and financial statements of ￿ charity.
The fina￿la1 stateffl￿ts have been wepared in accordance *ryth the accounting policies set out in
notes to the accounts and comply with the charity's goveming d￿uMefit. the Charities Act 2011 and
Accounting and Re￿rtIng by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in acc¢Ydance with the FTnancial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland {FRS 1021 Second Edition published in October 2019.

In the year to 31 March 2023 Zimkids has:
120 families currently being supwted - 90 families in the education wogramme and 30 women in
the self.sufficiency programme.
3 maJor sltes are being visited and supwted; Mutoko. Epworth and Hopley.
PROGRESS WITH OUR OBJECTIVES
We have three objects which have been defined for the purT*)5e of the UK Company and Charity.
Each object is linked with the Unrted Nation's Sustsinable Development Goals, a5 Plctured below.
RELIEVING POVERTY
Our main focus is training and education to relieve wverty for the long-term
IKswever it is sometimes necessary to provide food pèrcels. clothing and
medicines to (MJr families in need. This year generous donors distributed
washbags to ouryourtgerchildren and bianketsfor our older kids in the winter
months. We were also blessed with a huge freight truck load of food. washing
equipment and sanitary wear that we were able to distribute to our familie5
in great need.
HIGHLIGHT: This year we started tt community feedlns scheme for our
children in our community clossrLx)ms. leornins bosic literory ond numerocy. Veggies and maize
grown ot our bose is now distributed to our 4 community classr(KVn5 to sive them hot meals to
supplement their dlets. They olso receive o nutritlOU5 porridge to take home with them.
PROMOTING SELF-SUFFICIENCY

Our 5elf.sufficitNV team have had their lyjsiest season yet. this year. We
researched. planned and launched our Entrepreneurship training programme
where 75 family representatives We￿ trained. WTOte simple exam5, received
loans and started their small bu5ine55es.

HIGHUGHT.. The wc¥nen htive done incredibly settins up their innovative
busiiie55es. It tx7s been such o joy visitins them fortnishtly and seeing their
proyress. We've seen successful poultry reorirs. clothins moking, vendins
stalls ornl horticulture for profit.
ENHANCING LIFE & EDUCATION
This year we ran a three-night camp wth the teens. They had the most
wonderful time of community & relationship building and leamlng about
becoming leaders full of integrity, honesty and humilTty. The teens joined
with 250 other children from all over Zimbabwe and it was such a rlch and
rewarding time for them.
We V￿re thankful that funding this year also enabled us to carry out a
workshop with our teens focusing on healthy relationships. Our guest speaker
did a wonderful job of assuring our teens of their self-worth as well as talking
about puberty. hygi￿ and sex.

Thanks to the receipt of a large 3-year grant. our education programme
expanded hugely this year. We aptx)inted f￿r new township teachers, two
new community clas5r¢))ms, enrolled 90 children onto our education
programme and introduced hot meals 3 times a week for those children.
This year two students went into theirfinal year of tertiary education, Tanaka
st￿tyIng textile technology at Tabudirira Training Centre and Nyasha stud￿ng
media & journalism at Midlands State Unive￿Ity-
We were able to run two arts and crafts-focu5ed workshops this year with our
Primary S(￿1-aged children and take them ￿ a trip to a Donkey sanctuary.
These workshops were key in giving the children experiences oUts￿e of the home and important for
their development.

We have a permanwt base in Harare. thr￿h the Incre￿lY Sw￿rouS donation of a Zimbabwean
family.
PUBUC BENEFIT
The four re￿)rtS listed above under the heading 'ProgresS With our Objectives. and the 'Plans for
Future. section below both demonstrate how Zimkid5' wolk benefits vulnerable children and families
in Zimbabwe to give them a hope for the future. This work is made p055ible by the consistent stream
of support and donations made by *NJividuals and Organisati(m￿ both in Zimbabwe and W￿l￿￿1de.

Continue to assess the Entrepreneurs t￿SinesSeS plans and support them wlth further loans
as their businesses develop.
Enrol 30 new families ¢)nto our entrepreneu￿ip programme to begin their journeys
towards self-sufficiency.
Begin jam-making training and cfyjking workshops with our teens.
Generate inct￿me from our flxxl prOd￿e at the base to sow back into our Ed￿atIOn
projects.
Continue to develop wr community classro￿5 by sutporting and training our newest
mentors to best equip the learning of the children that attend.
RESERVES POLICY
As a charity, which relies solely on donation5 to I￿p iThJividuals identified by Zimkids, there is no
operation need. other than to cover operational costs, and for the income from investments to meet
the needs of a predicted annual b￿1get. Nor 15 there a required m7nimtKn income that has to be
achleved.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The Trustee5 have considered major risks to Zimkids May be exw5ed and are satisfied that systems
are in place to mitigate exposu￿ to these risks.
