Slalemenl of Recommended Praolice applicable lo charities preparing their acwunls in accordance wth the Financial R6porting stsndard for Smaller Entities and Churth Accounting Regulations. The council has complied with its duty under sectFon 5 of the Safeguarding and Clergy Discipline Measure 2016 to have due regard lo House of Bishops, guidance on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Objectives and Activities The PCC is committed to enabling as many 8$ people as possible to find faith in God, lo worship in our churches. and to become part of the Christtan tsmily. When planning our activities for tre year the incumbent and the PCC have considered the Chaity Cornmissioners. guidan￿ on public benefit, and in particular the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. We are an Anglican parish seeking in our own context to demonstrate the public benefits which l¢)cal churches have brought to their cOmmun￿tieS lor the last 2000 years. In particular, we try to nurture and spread the Christian faith among people of all ages through". Worship and prayer, Teaching the Gospel., Developing people's knowledge 8lld trust in Jesus., Provision of pastoial care for people living in the parFSh', Missionary and outreath work,. To factlitate this work, it is important ihat we maintain th8 fabric of the churches and the Parish Centre. Review of the year 2024 The Bible calls us 19 be partners in the gospel and 2024 saw the first green shoots ol new relationships with our neighbouring parishes. St. Andre￿S and St. Mich8el's are now a fully-fledged part of the Hillside Oversight Area along with our fellow Anglican chuTches in Lickey and Blackwell, Rednal and RL¢bery. Together we have started to explore how we can work together and support one another. Pradically, we support the Sl. Stephen's too¢J Pantty with donations of food and drink. St. Chad's have supported us by providing cover for seNices. These relationships will only grow as we C8rry on getting to know each other. Two h￿hlightS over the YearWe￿ the two joint morning sotvices we We￿ able to hold. PCC has continued to meet and provide excellent support in governing and guiding the often unseen bul so essential mechanisms of the parish. As ever. s8fegLtarding is quite rightty a high priority particular￿ given the unfortunate events wrthin the church of EnglaTrd over recent month5. Finance is also a vital part of the work of PCC. We are Ihanthl that we are in a fortunate posib'on which has enabled us lo meet our Parish Sh8re as well as committing lo support mission partners abroad. We are very grateful foi the hard work and dedication of our lour churohwardens. Geoff Hall. Jill Newton 8nd Jonathan Lucas were joined by Bill Sedgewck during the year. A lol of their work and commitment is unseen but without it oui church would not lun so well nor our buildings be rnaintalned to the standard that they are.

PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF ST MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS, COFTON HACKETT AND ST ANDREW BARNT GREEN Year ended 31°, December 2024 We are very blessed to have four wonderful Lay Readers who each bring their own unique skills and gtfting5 to the life of the church. Their commitment goes beyond Sunday servic85 and enrich85 th8 life our church communty in so many ways. As we look lo 2025, we conlinue lo prdy for God's guidance. We have a God who is sovereign and who is, even when life looks chaotic, a solid rock on which w8 Can build our liv85 and the lrfe of thè church. And so, It 15 in him that we trust. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably mre than all we ask or imagine. according to his pow8r that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generalions. for ever and Èverl Amen., Ephtssians 3..20-21 Rev Xttb Finance and Accounts This year's resulis show a surplus of £11,299 on the Unrestricted fvnd compared to 8 surplus of £2,226 in 2023 wf(h income £7,32114.8Y.I higher and expeT)diture £1,75211.2%1 lower. Overall. including Restricted and Desi9nated funds, the results show a deficit of £19,565 compared to a deficit of £30.999 in 2023. The dèficrt in both years We￿ due to a high levd of project spend from legacies ceived in earfier years. The unrestri¢te(I voluntsry income was £55710.5%1 hEgher than 2023. so ￿mainIng fairfy steady, with some new donors replacing those thal we have lost but not keeping up wilh inflation. Taking inftation into consideralion, this means that in real temis, there was 8 f8114n volunt8ry income. This is ¢oncemiMg as atthough there was a 6.8% increase lèst year this followed 3 years of falling voluntary income and levels are still below 2019 Ipre-pandemicl. Parish Centre Income plus income from hiring the Church was £5510119.5%1 higher than 2023 with some new regular hirers and more on&off hires too. This represents most of the overall increase in unrestricted incotll8. The Diocesan Common Fund is always by far our biggest expenditure. In 2024 the diocese did not increase the amount that trey asked parishes to pay in recoonilion that many Churches are struggling following th8 pandemle. Hi)wever. the PCC chose to increase our voluntary elemer)t by £4,00016¥.1, lo make a total payment of £71,000. This recognises that we are a relativety wealthy Paiish and should therefore help to support those that are struggling. This increase was more than offset by a reduC￿On in Church 8nd Churchyard maintenance which does tend to vary signifi¢8ntly from year lo year. Our policy to donate 1 OYO of our voluntary income was ielaintrd with annual tithe donations lotslling £11,504. In addition. 'Coffee Break. donated £520 and we made charitable donations of £5,230 from Special Collectlons. Thls year, the Christrnas collections were split equally beb￿een the Birminghaffl City Mission Foodbank and The Pantry@ si stephen's Rednal. OthEr collections included support for the Teams4U shoebox initiative, payment of shipping costs f￿ a corniainer that went to Malawi and the Oversight Area service colleotion, hold in St Andrews, wont to St Chads, Rubery lo support their 'pay as you are able, drop in initi8tive. There were no new legacies this year bul thanks to previous legacies, we have been able to complete a number of projects. At Sl Mich8el's. the organ underwent a full refurbishment, LED lighting was installed. a new path was18id to the new ashes area, created last year, and new benches were also added. At St Andrew's the paving at Ihe front of the Church was replaced and LED lighting was inslx116d. In the Parish Centre additional LED lighting was installèd. eompleting the conversion to LED'sthat has taken place over the last few y8ars.

PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF ST MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS, coFfoN HACKErr AND ST ANDREW BARNT GREEN Year ended 31 December 2024 Resenfes Our policy is lo place surplus fvnds with the CBF C of E Deposit Fund. On the 31 Èl D8C8mber 2024 W8 held £130.393 with the CBF. £4346 in an HSBC deposit account and £19,134 in 'Cash at Bank and in Hand, giving a toial of £153.873. From the total, £9,844 is restrlcted, £71,873 is from legacie5 that we have designated for project spending, leaving £72,156 of Unrestricted liquid reserv8s. It 18 PCC policy to maintain a balance on Unrestricted funds equal to al least 3 months runnlng costs {approximately £37,000), to eovèr emergency sKuatlons. While the currenl liquid reserves are well above this, with a sharp increasè in the diocesan common fund for 2025 and Voluntary Income falling behind inflation, this gives us some headroom going forwards y￿poWelL Reference and adminislralive details The PCC is a registered charity, Number 1127031, govemed by the PCC (Powers) Measure 1956 and the Church Representation Rules.
