The Trustees have adopted the provisions of Accoun�ng and Repor�ng by Chari�es: Statement of Recommended Prac�ce applicable to chari�es preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Repor�ng Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effec�ve 1 January 2019). ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** ## **Objec�ves and aims** The Charity's objects are: - Advance the teaching of Shri Guru Ravidass Ji and the Sikh religion (from the holy book) among the residents of the area to benefit by providing the furnishings a place of worship and secondly to relieve poverty ## The main ac�vi�es in rela�on to the objec�ves are: - (a) To arrange marriage ceremonies in accordance with Sikth faith and according To the current laws of England and Wales - (b) To celebrate gurpurbs (births anniversaries of gurus) in clause 5 (1). - (c) To give financial aid to chritable organisa�ons up to a maximum of f250 in Europe. Any contribu�on or financial aid in excess of the f250 maximum should be decided only through a mee�ng and agreement of the general body. Any financial aid to charirable organisa�ons for India should only be decided by a mee�ng and agreement of the general body (only for Shri Guru Ravidass Gurdwara). - (d) To provide facili�es for a library, educa�onal facili�es, reading room and Punjabi school. - (e) To bring co-opera�on, brother hood, love and unity in the community - (f) Shri Guru Ravidass Gurdwara shall open for worshippers and dona�ons at-least 12 hours a day and 24 hours for special func�ons The Charity through the trustees seek to ensure that all grants made are in keeping with the objects as is s�pulated in the Governing document and those grants are used for such purposes. ## **Statement on public benefit** The trustees have considered the Charity Commision's guidance on public benefit, including the guidance 'public benefit: running a charity (PB2)'. ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** In the twelve months under review, total income was £69,021; (2019: £87,080) and total expenditure was £63,919; (2019: £72,443). Net results for the year were £5,102; (2019: £14,637) and carries forward funds of £594,928; (2019: £589,826). ## **Reserves** The Trustees believes that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained so that in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to con�nue the Charity's ac�vi�es and are working towards achieving reserve levels of three to six months of running costs. ## **Going concern** At the �me of approving the accounts, the Trustees have a reasonable expecta�on that the Charity has adequate resources to con�nue in opera�onal existence for the foreseeable future. I report in respect of my examina�on of the charity’s accounts carried out under sec�on 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examina�on I have followed all the applicable Direc�ons given by the Charity Commission under sec�on 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiners statement** I have completed my examina�on. I confirm that no ma�ers have come to my a�en�on in connec�on with the examina�on giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accoun�ng records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by sec�on 130 of the 2011 Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or 3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Chari�es (Accounts and Reports) Regula�ons 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view' which is not a ma�er considered as part of an independent examina�on. Accoun�ng Policies** ## **Basis of accoun�ng** The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost conven�on, except for investments which are included at market value and the revalua�on of certain fixed assets and in accordance with the Chari�es SORP (FRS 102) ‘Accoun�ng and Repor�ng by Chari�es: Statement of Recommended Prac�ce applicable to chari�es preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Repor�ng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effec�ve 1 January 2019)’, Financial Repor�ng Standard 102 the Financial Repor�ng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), and the Chari�es Act 2011. SHRI GURU RAVIDASS GURDWARA GRAVESEND meets the defini�on of a public benefit en�ty under FRS 102. Assets and liabili�es are ini�ally recognised at historical cost or transac�on value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accoun�ng policy note(s). ## **Going concern** At the �me of approving the accounts, the Trustees have a reasonable expecta�on that the Charity has adequate resources to con�nue in opera�onal existence for the foreseeable future. Thus, the Trustees' con�nue to adopt the going concern basis of accoun�ng in preparing the accounts. ## **Funds** Funds are mainly through voluntary dona�ons and the government gi� aid scheme. ## **Incoming resources** All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial ac�vi�es when the Charity is en�tled to the income and the amount can be quan�fied with reasonable accuracy. ## **Resources expended** Liabili�es are recognised as resources expended when there is a legal or construc�ve obliga�on commi�ng the Charity to the expenditure. ## **Charitable ac�vites** Charitable ac�vi�es are those costs rela�ng to ac�vi�es carried out to meet the objec�ves of the charity and include directly a�ributed costs as well as support costs. ## **Alloca�on and appointment of costs** Direct costs a�ributable to a single ac�vity are allocated directly to that ac�vity. Shared costs which contribute to more than one ac�vity and support costs which are not a�ributable to a single ac�vity are appor�oned between those ac�vi�es on a basis consistent with the use of resources. ## **Taxa�on** The charity is exempt from corpora�on tax on its charitable ac�vi�es. ## **Tangible fixed assets** Tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valua�on less deprecia�on and any provision for impairment.
