The Poynton and District Round Table is an organisation for men that meet on regular occasions in order lo further friendships. add something to their local community through fundraising, participation or support and enjoy a range of life-broadening experiences. FLJII membership is limited to those between the ages of 18 and 45. Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document Poynton and District Round Table {PDRT) undertake main fvndraising activities each year.. the Bonfire and Fireworks display at Poynton Pool and the Santa Float throughout Poynton. All resultant profits from these events, after deduction of necessary setup cosls, are retained in the PDRT charity account for distribution to good causes in accordance with our objectives. 1. Bonfire and Firework Display at Poynton Pool, Poynton, Cheshire on 4 November 2023 PDRT typically organises and runs a bonfire and firework display at Poynton Pool on the Saturday nearest to 5 November. This is PDRfs main fundraising event and is attended by approximately 4,000 to 5,000 members of the public. Tickets were sold online in advance only. Sale of tickets to the public. Operation of a licensed bar during the event. Re￿ivIng an adVan￿d payment from the fairground, catering and merchandise operators that are on-site during the event. 2. Santa Float throughout Poynton. December 2023 In the weeks leading up to Christmas, PDRT members, local volunteers {from local organisations} and Santa visit almost all homes in Poynton, interacting with the community and spreading a little Christmas cheer in the build up to the 25th December. Revenue is raised by opèrating a volunta cash collection in con unclion with the Santa float. Addltional details of objectives and activitles (Optional information) Although PDRT has a r8asonably healthy number of members, we do rely h8avily on additional volunteers for our bonfire and Santa float activities. Main Charitable Revenue Raising- The November 2023 bonfire and fireworks event realised a net profil for the charity of circa £43.000 The December 2023 Santa float collections raised a profit of circa £1400. Charitable Donations: A total of £30,651.50 of charitable donations have been made in the period including pledges which were not completed at the previous reporting date. The charitable donations I pledges relating to the period were: Local Groups such as PTAS, Sports clubs. Guides and Scouts circa £9,000 Grant requests paid or pledged in the period £21,750 Our opening charity account balance on I" May 2023 was £67,921.55 inclusive of the reserve account balance. Ihe oulstanding funds in our charity account as at 30 April 2022 (after allowing for pledged donations) are held for the following purposes.. To respond to future community service requests betjyeen the start of the financial year and our next fundraising events in November and December 2024 as we have no other sources of revenue during this time.
