From its inception, WAC has been a registered member of the British Association of Barbershop Singers and, with effect from 24 November 2008 WAC has been registered as a charity with the Charity Commission of Great Britain (No. 1126889). The charitable objects of WAC are to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of a cappella choral music in all its aspects through the presentation of public concerts, recitals, workshops and other performances both public and private. In addition, WAC supports other charitable organizations through the making of grants and donations intended to further its stated objectives.
