L15vane 8aptist Church is constituted as a charitable trust reglstered wlth the Charity Commlsslon in
November 2￿18 under charity number 1126878. It is governed by a Const￿ut10n last updated in 2LX)9 based
on the model cortstitution developed by the Baptlst Unlon of Great Brltaln. Under thls constitutlon the
tru51ees are appointed by the Church Membership and are res￿nsIble to the Church Members for the day
to day runnlni of the Church. Church MembEr5' meetln8s are held at least quJrterfy and have flnal
uthorlty.
Pwpose
The primary purpose of the Church b the advancement of the Chrlstian falth accordlng to the prlnclplts of
the Baptist denominatk>n. The Church also 5eek5 to advance Christtsn education and conduct other
charltable purposes In both the Un5ted Kln8dom and In other parts of the world.

In addltlon to the above artfvlties the trustees seek to ensure that every Indlvldual assocL•ted w￿h the
church is cared for and supported physically, emotionally and splrltualPy to the best of the church's ablllty.
In order to facIl￿ate and oversee the 4$50clated att￿ttle5. one of the deacon5 k% given a specific role of
Pastoral Support.
S•tyuardlni of Children •ftd Vulntr•ble Adults
The trustees conslder that the 5afe8uarding of children and vulnerable adults requlres the hlghest levels of
attentlon. To this end the Church has de¥elo&*d a Safeguarding Pollcy based on the template priwided by

the Bapt15t Union of Great Britaln. In Ilne wfth thls pollcy the Church has appolnted Lesley Scarratt and
Emma Newman-Lewls as the Designated Persons for Safeguardin8 IDPS).

As noted above m05t meetlngs are held In the local village hall which we belleve helps to define our pbace
at the centre of the local cornmunky. The Church owns two resldentlal propert*s In close proxlmlty to the
villa8e hall, ljoth of which have prevlously been used as man5e5 to house full tlme staff members. Imrt are
leased out to tenants. At the year*nd one of the propertie5 W15 vacant. In addttion to these two
propertles the church also owns a small two-storey offke and meetin8 room whKh was bullt as an annex
to one of the two manses between 2020 and 2022. The offKe a150 5er¥es as a meetln8 room for smaller
8atherln8s of church fdends and members.

Durlng the 2024-25 flnanclal year there were no pald slaff members. The Church has contlnued to operate
wlthout paSd staff. with the trustees offerlne the necessary guidance and other members and frlends of the
churth glving of thelr tlme and 8lftln8s In order to further the work of the 8aptlst Church In L15¥ane.

Wh115t there are no pald staff and both manses are leased out, there Is • surplu5 of Income over
expendllure, and th15 has allowed the church to Increase Its flnanclal BfvlnB to other charlties whlch •

rese￿e5 held on account. The church antlclpate5 employing a mlnister In the next flnantlal year12025-261
at whlch point there l$1Skely to be a defl¢li of Income versus expenditure for a perlod of tlme. The reser￿$
which have been accrued are exfved to cover thts defklt for •t least three years.

The church alms to hokf funds to cover at least sFx months expendlture and to offer fln•n¢tal securlty of
employment to a new employee ol at least 3 years.

The Church Is a member of the Baptbt Union of Great 8ritain {8aptlst Unronl and the South Wa5es Baptlst
Assoclatlon. It Is also a member of the Lisvane Comrnunlty Ass(Kiation.

The church support5 a number of other charStle5 whlch it considers to be aligned to the purposes of the
¢hurch. by both regular lifting and occ451onal one-off gffts. Re8ular alftini Is made to:
Teachef Aid. A local charlty which supports Nsobe Communlty School in Zambia
Rainbow of Hope. A local charty supportin8 horneless and vulnerable peopSe In Cardiff.
BMS (Baptist Missionary Society) Home and Workl Mlssion. 5UPPOrtin8 wider Christian mi5$1on In
the UK and around the world respectivety.
Lookins to the Future
The trustees and church mEmber5 are now in agreement that a minister (full or part timel should be
appointed and the church has entered the Baplist Unlon "Settlement" process which circulates such
vacancies to Baptist Unlon actredited ministers seeking a positlon. Notwith5tandin8 this antrcipated

appolntment, The Church reco8nise the need to pn>gress tts aims and it 15 pursuing opportunltles
for 8rowth and development of the Spiritual life of members and of the wmler communlty.
