Treasurer's Summary.
2023 has bgen an interesling year. The recovery from Covld continues bul many p8ople are still
reluctant lo come oul. This rneans that groups have struggled either 10 meet or numbers have been
smallor.
I want to say a thank you lo those who ￿88 the Parish Giving Scheme, il gives us a monthly Income
which includes thè Gift Aid refund and makes budgeting easier. Some ol you have allowed your
conlribulion to rise in line with inflation which also helps. Inflation which has been hlgh slnce Covid
means that if inflation is 10¥0 we need lo increase our income by the $ame amount, il il does not rise by
inflation il's spending power drops each year.
This has been noticeable In the some of the work we hav6 undertaken thls year, the costs of thè
materials hag risers and therolore the final bill has also risan so that there is a signilicanl difference pre
8nd post covid. Many orggnigalions have r8POrted that they now find il impossible to Lsndert8ke a
project Ihal had fundraised for before Covid and now find there is not sufficient funds to pay for it.
Our income Interest from verious funds has dropped and I believe that if we had delayed the
replacement ol the driveway. the windows and one Minibus we would also have found il difficult to fund
them.
Of course il is great lo have replaced the windows and in particular the Stained Glass Wlndow. Many
P8ople contributed towards the wlndow and once we gel the Tax r81iel back it will have nearly been
covered by these conlribulitsns. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, many had per50nal
Teasons why they contributed. for example to remember a loved one. I was privileged lo se811 being
made after Adam Luke Hawker had produced a line drawing. there wer& many hours of work In it's
prodLsclion.
Fundraising Conlinues which 1$ helping and allhough11 is hard work al times il does give a feellng of
cornmunily spirit and allra¢ls the PLsblic.
My Ihanks lo Beryl, Jane and Gill who assist In the weekly counl, Also to Andy Hopkins ffom
Birmingham Voluntary S8rvi¢e Council for examining the accounts this year.
