Once again. a new recjxd was set wth donat￿1$, including corporate. increasing 100% on the previous year to finish close to £300,0¢)O. Highlightg of this year induded in-person events onty made Fossiue with the help of our donors, our Board, and our volunteers. We were generously hosted by separate long-temi supporters in their homes for an intimate lunch, and frjr a drinks reCept￿n where we leamt aix)ut the importance of AWC'S First Nations patherships. The Vlestem Australian Agent-General kindly collaborated wrth us to r8ise awareness of the Kimberley. and the challenges assoC￿ted with undertaking conservation projects in such a remote region. Finalty. AKC UK was the beneffieiary of a fundraising gtrkarting event organisej by Macquarie Capital, facilitated ty UK Board Director Adam Hain. It was a high-adrenaline evening where the Macquarie Foundation matched all funds raised from the event, resuttrng in a total of £150,000! Proud AK Ambassador and F1 Champion Mark Webberjoined us on the evening and generously donatwj an auction prize. Our dose contht AVK continued with CEO. Tim ￿18rd, spending a week with us in March and participating in a numter of events organized by Lvzzy to fijrther expand our network and profile in the UK. Further, AWC'S Chief Development Officer. Amy House, joined us in London in September to work with Lizzy and the Board on UTrCs fundraising strategy and growih over the next five years. Anothèr development in A￿,$ global footprtnt is the apwintment of a new Head of Fundraising in New York, who we have been working closdy wrth to discuss a consolhaat&J approach to unlock additsonal fvnding sources in across UK. Europe and USA. A￿c USA'S new r￿11 spent Ihree days with Lvzzy in London meeting donors and discussing the fundraising horrzon across their respecb.ve territories. The Boards of AK UK and AWC USA each other online in December. and there are plans for the fundrawng Boards to work closety together in 2024. This year Anthony Deagan conweted his &year tem as a Director of AWC UK and since he had retumed to Australia during this pemd, he ele¢ted r￿t to seek wppointrnenL Anthony played a signiftant role in the rebuilding of AK UK and wth hks Infectsous enthusiasm and paSs￿n for natur& oversaw the provision of office space for Ltzzy, the hosts'ng of a number of events, and introducts'ons to key people who supFort in a variety ofways. I would like to thank Anth¢)ny for his iemfi contributson al￿ p8rsonal support during this pefKMI. I would also like to thank Chandra Eathell who, unfortunately. had to cut short her tenure as a Board Member due to her relocatKfft to the Mrddle East. Incoming resources exceeded expended resources by £69,478 {£12,129 in 20221 which is an increase of 472.8Qh. The increased profit for the year, compared lo the smaller profil in 2022, is mainly due to revenue being up by 78.7% *0 £315,5001£176,560 in 2022} offset by expenditure increase by 49.6% to £246,022 {£164,431 in 20221. The 2023 rèvanue includes donats'ons, gift-aid r8eov8ry and Interest. The donations have rlsen Ihis year to a ￿cord £297,783. an incr8as8 of £147,053197.60h} compared to 2022. Thi$ increase derives malnly from a large corwrate event. Higher received donations resulted in increased gift-aid recovery, which a up by 45.4% from £11,251 to £16,360. The majonty of donations are from corporat8s, which does not attract gfft-aid. There was no event Income In 2023, Interest rose from £92 10 £1.357, whlch predominatèly r8flects a mixture of more cash held In deposlt and market interest rate increase throughout 2023. Total r&sour¢es expended increased from 2022 to 2023 by 49.6% from £164,431 to £246,022. This 1$ malnly due to a higher grant of £155,1051£91,883 in 20221 to Australian Wildlife Conservancy. Th8 higher grant is due lo the increase in received donations. The grant is decided by the Board and is based on incoming donations for the 12 month's period from th8 1 st November to 31 st Octobèr the following year. It is ag￿ed by individual donors to exclude certain donations from the grant to cover the charity, future running COSt5. Another expenditure increase in 2023 18 in payroll costs {£63,5131. which is higher compared to 20221£54,0811 by 17.4%. Cash increased by 5.1 % from £97,655 to £102,637 leaving a good level of Ilquldity. in The company receives most of Its fvndlng trom donatlons made by individuals and oryanisations, supplemented in some (but not all) cases by gift-aid. Reserves Over the year under revlew tho company's reserves increased by £89,478 from £91,943 to £161,421. The reserves relate to unrestncted funds.
