**Young in Wolverhampton Clubs (YIWC)** ## **Annual Trustees Report 2024 – 25** ## **OUR MISSION STATEMENT** We provide a safe and supportive environment for educational and recreational activities in order to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of our beneficiaries. Guided by a needs led, holistic approach, we empower individuals to become confident, independent and active members of their community. Our work is specifically aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals within our community to have a positive impact on their health and well being, breaking down barriers of social isolation, creating opportunities for positive change that will enhance their quality of life and lead to a wider social change. We continue to adapt and grow our service delivery, with a variety of tailor made enriching programmes, addressing the ongoing complex needs of our beneficiaries and the local community. We continue to retain and increase our service user groups and support them in their activities within our multi use space. We have 1to1 Counselling, Mindfulness, Intensive Relation, Pain Management, Therapeutic Support Groups, young people and adult dance classes, Performing Arts School, Maths and English tuition (KUMON), African Dance, Alternate Provision, Scalextric Club, after school and holiday clubs and over 50’s Therapeutic Arts and Craft Group. All working to combat isolation and loneliness whilst sharing skills and making new friends, calm, de-stress and help focus the mind. Our Psychotherapeutic programmes - our unique creative therapeutic programme that include; art, counselling, mindfulness and intensive relaxation have proved to be extremely successful with young people, young people/adults with learning difficulties/disabilities, neurodivergent and adults. Due to their need and success, we are now able to offer this service out to more external organisations and groups, schools, colleges, residential, LAC, alternative provision and all community settings. Whilst engaging with our beneficiaries this year, it has become abundantly clear that there is a vital need to support people, of all ages, in a variety of areas in Basic Life Skills, Financial Management, CV writing/Interview skills, etc, as the economy continues to struggle and people find themselves in financial fluctuation. We were successful in gaining funding from Bailey Thomas to deliver this programme in the short term and we intend to seek further funding for future delivery. We will continue to assess need and complex needs within our community and develop programmes and source funding to fulfil this.
