OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We provide a safe and supportive environment for educational and recreational activities in order to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of our beneficiaries. Guided by a needs led, holistic approach, we empower individuals to become confident, independent and active members of their community.
Our work is specifically aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals within our community to have a positive impact on their health and well being, breaking down barriers of social isolation, creating opportunities for positive change that will enhance their quality of life and lead to a wider social change.
We continue with our successful Therapeutic Programme, combined with the provision for young people and young people/adults with learning difficulties/disabilities, supporting an inclusive, and needs led, holistic service that is beneficial to all our local community, making full use of the space in our centres.
Having previously made adaptations to our service delivery, that included varied tailor made programmes, specific to meet the ongoing needs of our beneficiaries, addressing loneliness and isolation, created a warm and safe space where members of the community engage in enriching activities. Our multiuse spaces continue to offer varied services to user groups, including, our long running therapeutic youth group for young people/adults with learning difficulties/disabilities which continually develops and evolves to engage, empower and educate. Our over 50’s therapeutic arts and craft group is combating isolation and loneliness whilst sharing skills and making new friends, our mindfulness and intensive relaxation sessions, calm, de-stress and help focus the mind. We also have young people/adult dance classes, performing arts school, Maths and English tuition, scalextric club, after school and holiday clubs.
Our Psychotherapeutic programmes that include our therapeutic art programmes have been really successful with young people, young people/adults with learning difficulties/disabilities and adults. Whilst engaging with our beneficiaries this year, it has become abundantly clear that there is a vital need to support people, of all ages, in a variety of areas in Basic Life Skills, Financial Management, CV writing/Interview skills, etc, as the economy continues to struggle and people find themselves in financial fluctuation.
We intend to explore further and develop this area of work into the forthcoming year, reaching more people and families. We will continue to assess need and complex needs within our community and develop programmes and source funding to fulfil this.
Whilst meeting the most vulnerable members of our communities immediate needs, we continue to see positive impact on their mental health and wellbeing, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for positive change, enhancing their quality of life, leading to a wider social change.
