||REPORT OFTHE TRUSTEES|||

||FOR THE PERIOD 1 JANUARY 2020 TO 31AUGUST 2020|||
||In June 2020 we launched<br>our Lecture Series. The first 30minute<br>Zoom talk was given by one ofour esteemed|||
||teachers,<br>on the subject of Ovid in renaissance<br>painting.<br>The sedies takes|place every quarter<br>and will<br>continue||
||into 2021.|||
||Due to ongoing<br>restrictions,<br>our second Summer School also took place online.<br>This meant that we were<br>able<br>to offer sessions<br>to children<br>nationwide.<br>200 pupils across key stage two and three signed<br>up for a two-week|||
||course, comprising<br>of10live Youtube sessions led by specialist facilitators as well as 40 smaller Zoom<br>classes,<br>covering<br>10 different<br>topics.<br>Subjects<br>included<br>puppet<br>making,<br>poetry,<br>storyte6ing,<br>opera,<br>dance<br>and<br>film-making<br>as well as Latin language,<br>ag based on the theme<br>of Greek and Roman<br>Gods and<br>Goddesses.<br>Thanks,<br>once again, to a generous<br>grant from the Classical Association,<br>students<br>were able to attend free<br>of|||
||charge.<br>Sadly, due to restrictions<br>we were not able to facilitate<br>our usual<br>in person trips to the University<br>of Cambridge<br>this year.<br>However we were delighted<br>to begin a partnership<br>with UCL, who organised<br>a wonderful<br>inscription|||
||workshop<br>as part of our online Summer School.|||
||In the Summer<br>of 2020 we launched<br>our first adult<br>poetry<br>competition,<br>Deanna<br>Rodger and Ella Hickson.<br>The competition<br>called on entrants to|judged<br>by writers<br>Black<br>Morrison,<br> use the phrase 'de rerum<br>natura'<br>(the||
||nature ofthings) as a starting<br>point.<br>As part ofa renewed<br>focus on fundraising,<br>we handmade<br>and sold bespoke face masks, embroidered<br>with<br>Latin|||
||verbs.|||
||Zippy Woolfson became treasurer.|||

|Now in its eleventh<br>year, The Latin Programme<br>is committed<br>to:||||
||continuing<br>to deliver high-quality,<br>engaging<br>Latin lessons that measurably<br>improve literacy.<br>finding<br>innovative<br>ways<br>to embed<br>the arts<br>into our programme,<br>providing<br>our pupils<br>with the opportunity<br>to|||
||develop their soft skills such as creativity,<br>confidence and resilience.<br>developing<br>free and subsidised<br>extra-cunicular<br>sessions for existing and|prospective<br>schools such as cookery||
||lessons, art classes and music making.|||
|Following|the success of both the 2019 and 2020 Scriptores<br>Competition,<br>we will|once again be encouraging<br>pupils<br>from||
|current and prospective<br>schools across London to build their confidence<br>in creative||writing<br>by inviting<br>them to take part in|a|
|2021 writing<br>competition.||||
|As part ofour fundraising<br>drive, we will continue<br>our hugely successful<br>lecture series in 2021, with notable guest speakers|||to|
|include Prof. Simon Goldhig,||||
