Report and Annual Accounts to March 2025

Headquarters

The Group does not currently have their own headquarters . The principle address for meetings is at St Teresa’s RC School, Ashingdon Road , Rochford, Essex

Executive Committee

At the start of the year under review the principal officers of the Group Executive Committee were:

There were 99 (81 the previous year) members of the Group on the census taken in January 2024. Membership Subscriptions payable to National Headquarters, Essex County Scout Council and Crouch Valley District Scout Council was £53.00 (£47.00 the previous year) for the year and was payable for each young member of the Group. We will continue to support those members who face financial difficulty with subsidising activity and membership fees.

Basis of Preparation of the Accounts

All income and expenditure is recorded as cash amounts received/paid during the period. No amounts are accrued.

The Group is a sponsored Group and is sponsored by St Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Rochford, Essex.

Mrs Annette Harvey has been re-appointed as independent Examiner of the Group’s Accounts

Notes to the accounts

  1. The Group maintains a current and deposit account registered with NatWest Bank 32 West Street, Rochford, Essex. The group held a small amount in an investment Account with Scottish Widows which was closed during the financial year and the funds amalgamated into existing accounts with NatWest..

  2. The insured value of the Group’s assets which comprise the storage shed and its’ contents situated in the grounds of St. Teresa’s Church was £15,000.

  3. Membership Subscription

    • Membership subscription remained at £50 per term with reduced subscription for a third or more child. This is continually under review.
  4. During the last financial year the Group applied for Gift Aid for the last four years bringing it up to date with permitted claims . This resulted in an extra income for the year of £5431.

  1. The Group runs an online shop from the Group website which sells a small range of Scouting items.

  2. Fundraising. Comprised of quiz night (£348) and Essex International Jamboree raffle (£820).

  3. Major items of expenditure included Hi-Viz Jackets, Storage boxes, Cargo wagons, Cooking equipment and gas stoves.
