Report of the Management Committee For the year ended 30 June 2024
The trustees present their report for the financial statement for the year ended 30 June 2024.
Objectives
The company is to exist as a non-profit to promote our core objectives;

(1) To promote, by means that are exclusively charitable under the laws of England and Wales, the conservation and protection of both wild and captive wildlife, by actively assisting in the development of projects to alleviate injury, sickness, illtreatment, neglect or threat to these animals and their environment. In particular but not limited to the protection and development of existing Wildlife SOS rescue and rehabilitation centres in India for Sloth Bears, Asian Elephants, Tigers, Leopards, Deer and other wildlife as well as domestic animals while promoting animal welfare and compassion towards animals.

(2) To advance public education, in particular by providing educational programs that raise public awareness both nationally and internationally, of the problems facing wild and captive wildlife. By supporting and conducting research initiatives that investigate the long-term sustainability of wildlife and the environment – plus, where possible, publishing the useful results of such research in a manner that would promote animal welfare and compassion towards animals.

(3) To promote benefit of indigenous tribes and local communities, in India by: (a) Creating Alternative Livelihood opportunities through seed funding (b) Providing educational support to tribal children to improve career prospects (c) Supporting advancement of education and skill training for tribal communities; (d) Helping to improve their quality of life by addressing poverty alleviation; (e) Promoting good health & disease management in tribal communities.

Trustees Responsibilities
Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of the charitable company and of the income and expenses during the course of that year.
In preparing the accounts the trustees are required to:

Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently

Make judgements and estimates that are reasonably prudent

Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at the time the financial position of the charitable company and to enable them to ensure that the statements comply with the Companies Act 1985. They are also responsible got safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence take reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
Annual Review
The majority of the funds raised were deployed to achieve the objectives of Wildlife SOS while ensuring awareness and education targets were also achieved as well as social impact on the target communities and target groups. Targets were also to maintain stability in support of our Indian parent company.

The financial statements are prepared in accordance with the special provisions of Part VII of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small business.
Audit Exemption

(a) For the year ended 30th April 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 249A(1) of the Companies Act 1985. (In the case of charitable companies which are claiming partial exemption, the reference will be to section 249A(2)).

(b) Members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 249B(2) of the Companies Act 1985;

(c) The directors acknowledge their responsibility for: i. ensuring the company keeps accounting records which comply with section 221; and
ii. preparing accounts which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of the financial year, and of its profit or loss for the financial year, in accordance with the requirements of section 226, and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act relating to accounts, so far as applicable to the company.
- (d) The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the special provisions in Part VII of the Companies Act 1985 relating to small companies.

1. Accounting Polices
1.1 Conventions
The financial statements are in accordance with the Companies Act 1985 and follow the recommendations of the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice issued in October 2005.
The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention.
1.2 Income
Income received through ‘in-kind’ support or by the way of donations has been defined as unrestricted or restricted where it is for a specific project. The value of voluntary services has not been included.
1.3 Foreign Currencies
Donations and incurring liabilities are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange prevailing at the accounting date of the remittance. Transactions in foreign currencies are recorded at the date of the transaction. All differences are dated into the Income and Expenses account and are recorded as unresolved equity in the Balance Sheet.
2. Taxation
As a registered non-profit company we are exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities. Gift Aid due for this accounting period was received after the end of the accounting period so has not been included in this years figures.
