The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30 November 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Charities SORP (FRS 102) & apos;Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)
## **Objectives and Activities**
## **Objectives and aims**
The aims of the group are:
- To support and protect the refugee children’s right to education;
- To support the refugee children’s right to access to social and economic development as equals;
- To encourage schools and community involvement in educational activities;
- To support the relief of poverty of refugees and those displaced by war and or poverty;
- To work in partnership with stakeholders to achieve these aims.
To achieve these aims the group will:
- Provide textbooks which are culturally specific and from their home countries wherever possible;
- Provide the refugee children with the curriculum-based knowledge to sit exams in their own country;
- Provide tools and /or services as deemed necessary for the empowerment of refugee children and Teachers,
- including but not limited to assisting teachers to re-train or acquire new skills;
- Enable young people displaced by war and/or poverty to develop their vocational and professional skills and hence support their integration into society through work
- Provide cultural, recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare;
- Raise money/funding in order to carry out the aims of the group by means including awards, grants, Sponsorship
- and donations;
- Publicise their activities and achievements.
## **Public benefit**
In setting our objectives and planning our activities the Trustees’ have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit and assessed its own objectives according to the ‘public benefit requirement’.

**REACT DELIVERS EDUCATION, RESOURCES** and **PROTECTION** to refugees - specifically young people, and the vulnerable who fall through the cracks of other services. We want to support them back into society, as equals. Our trusted networks of partners on the ground enable us to get direct access to those most in need of our support, and we like to respond to their direct needs fast.
**WHY** : In the world today 80 million men, women and children are on the move seeking safety and a better life due to war, poverty and climate change. Of these, more than 30 million are refugees and asylum seekers and 52 per cent of the global refugee population are children.
Inclusion and empowerment are often failing migrants due to laws that criminalise them and to the systemic failures to protect those most at risk.
**REACT** works to overcome these barriers and support children and adults to access services and education in areas where delivery of resources, opportunities and education has the most impact.
Our **VISION** is a world where all those fleeing conflict and poverty have access to protection, education and opportunities so they can return to society as equals.
Our **MISSION** is to bring dignity to people’s lives, focusing on the most vulnerable and the children. We target those who fall through the gaps and are in urgent need of inclusion.
**OUR RECORD** : over the last 15 years we have reached thousands of youth, children and women providing schools and libraries, legal aid, trauma support and protection from violence to young people and the most vulnerable in society. Specifically: in UK we provided Legal aid, education and travel grants for survivors of trafficking and domestic violence. In Italy we ran after school clubs and donated Digital resources for vulnerable women and children. We supported Cultural mediation and legal aid services for asylum seekers; In Sub Sahara Africa, we delivered 30,000 school textbooks for Darfuri primary school children and their teachers in refugee camps on the Chad/ Sudan border. In Greece we set up mobile libraries with Literature and Textbooks in Arabic and Farsi in refugee camps in Lesvos and in Athens, and donated sport equipment. In Jordan we funded trauma support in youth clubs in Amman for young people from Syria and the Palestinian territories. We also helped Afghan men, women and children leaving Kabul and resettling in Europe.
## **REACT - REFUGEE CHILDREN’S ACCESS TO EDUCATION AND QUALITY OF LIFE**
=== Update in the context of the WAR in Sudan - the Sudan conflict broke out on 15th April 2023 and continues to deepen. Following the conflict, 12 million Sudanese have been forcibly displaced within Sudan and across Sudan’s borders searching for safety from the continued extreme violence against civilians, including sexual violence and arbitrary killings (Source 1 ).Parts of Sudan, that remain inaccessible due to the ongoing insecurity, are affected by a grave famine situation. Over 24 millions people are facing acute famine conditions (Source :2) throughout Sudan.
=== Refugee Children access to School and Safety - Since the end of 2023 and during 2024 and 2025 REACT has been supporting a group of Sudanese refugee families helping them to find safety and a new life in Nairobi, Kenya.
In particular, REACT has been caring for three young children aged between 11 and 13 years currently asylum seekers in Nairobi, Kenya.

From March 2024, and thanks to REACT’s support, the children have been able to attend school with REACT providing for School fees and all necessary school requirements, as well as extra curriculum activities, such as sport, field trips and English lessons.
In addition to ensuring their education, REACT has been helping their families with living costs, such as rent and food and providing for medical expenses, including long term issues such as dental care and vision.
In the overall context of the children’s experiences of displacement and loss, REACT’s intervention has secured the children’s rehabilitation from the trauma of war, providing them with a stable family environment and care, allowing them to regain the confidence and stability they need to thrive as children and future adults. During 2025 REACT continued to fundraise to allocate funds for the education and safety of refugees so they can access education and medical treatment. Activities have also included raising awareness of the war in Sudan and its impact on its population through events, presentation at the UK Parliament, universities and the general public who have responded with generous donations to help REACT implementing its aims.
REACT has also provided relief in kind and monetary support to families from Gaza, Palestine who are now refugees in Ireland, as well as to a limited group of Indigenous people from the Amazonia forest in Argentina who are discriminated against by landowners and are in need of essential items to survive. These are targeted and occasional interventions who make a substantial change in the predicament many displaced and refugees find themselves in the world today.
During 2025 REACT has also been present in Southern Italy where the arrival and management of asylum seekers and people with a migratory background continue to be an issue that requires ad hoc interventions and voluntary work.
## FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
REACT Future Activities
REACT will continue in its vision and mission to create better opportunities and to support the most vulnerable in society, particularly asylum seekers and those fleeing poverty and conflict, and in the areas of education, children and vulnerable women.
## AREAS WHERE SUPPORT IS NEEDED
-Core Funding: Refugee Education Across Conflicts Trust runs as a voluntary organization with little overheads. We run fundraising events to support and manage directly the projects we identify as urgent and with great impact often in very difficult environments. The projects are often implemented voluntarily and directly by the REACT’s Director.
-Core Funding will allow REACT to be more efficient in its project delivery.
-Volunteer Support - Bid writers & Communication and Social Media Wizards.

REACT would like to thank all its individual supporters who have generously donated during REACT’s fundraising drives, and all those individuals who have given their time and commitment for their continued precious collaboration and generosity to the charity’s mission.
## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**
The Charity’s income was £30,834 in the year ended 30 November 2025 compared to £0 in the year ended 30 November 2024. The total expenditure was £14,946 in the year to 30 November 2025 compared to £1,945 in the year ended 30 November 2024. The fund balance carried forward at 30 November 2025 was £1,354 on unrestricted funds. The full Statement of Financial Activities is set out on page12 of these accounts.

## **Policy on reserves**
The Board of Trustees aim to develop and maintain a level of unrestricted reserves which ensures that there are adequate funds to meet current and known future liabilities.
A formal policy on reserves will be agreed in the next financial year by the Trustees.
Reserves will be maintained at a level which ensures that REACT’s core activity could continue during a period of unforeseen difficulties. REACT aims to have reserves equivalent to a minimum of 3 months core costs.
At the year end, the Charity’s free reserves (funds not tied up in fixed assets or designated) stood at £17,241 (2024: £1,354).
## **Structure, Governance and Management**
## **Governing document**
The organisation is governed by its Trust Deed adopted on the 27 November 2007 and constitutes a charitable trust. The organisation is registered with the Charity Commission. Charity Number is 1126498. Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
There must be at least three Trustees. Apart from the first Trustees, every Trustee must be appointed for a term of 2 year by a resolution of the Trustees passed at a special meeting and recorded in the minutes and signed by the new Trustee. In selecting individuals for appointment as Trustees, the Trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed or the effective administration of the Charity.
No one shall be appointed as a Trustee: (a) if he or she is under the age of 18 years; or (b) if he or she would at once be disqualified from office under the provisions of clause [11] of the deed (is disqualified, becomes incapable by reason of mental disorder, illness or injury; is absent without permission for all meetings in a period of 6 months, notifies a wish to resign).
## **Induction and training of new trustees**
New trustees receive induction on their legal responsibilities as charity trustees and the management and operational structure of the charity and the key management issues, e.g. Policy, personnel, finance and funding matters influencing its current and future development.
## **Training of volunteers**

## **Organisational structure**
The Trustees consists of at least three persons who include the chair, treasurer and secretary who oversee the day-to-day running of the organisation. General meetings are held annually in addition to any other meeting in the year. The Trustees shall decide the time and place at which the AGM will be held and will give members a minimum of ten days’ notice of general meetings. At any meeting in which elections are held every member shall have one vote. Resolutions shall be passed by majority vote present. If required, the chair shall have a second casting vote if the voting is equal.
Accounts shall be kept by a Treasurer, submitted to an independent inspection, and approved at an AGM. Amendment to the deed must be made by deed following a decision of the trustees made at a special meeting.

All banking accounts shall be in the name of the organisation. Two Trustees are nominated as authorised signatories of the accounts and all withdrawals from the accounts shall be signed by any one of the authorised trustees.
In the event of the group closing, where possible, any unspent funds shall be returned to the organisations or individuals by whom they were initially given. Where individual donors cannot be identified, residual assets shall be transferred to such other charitable institution or institutions having similar objects to the Trust as the Trustees shall in their absolute discretion decide.

## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities**
The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees' report and the financial statements in accordance with the United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice) and applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable to charities requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to:
- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP;
- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
- state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008, and the provisions of the constitution. The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the charitable company's website. Legislation governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Refugee Education Across Conflicts Trust for the year ended 30 November 2025.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees of Refugee Education Across Conflicts Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Refugee Education Across Conflicts Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of Refugee Education Across Conflicts Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view' which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **1 Accounting policies**
## **Statement of compliance**
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the second edition of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice issued in October 2019, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
## **Basis of preparation**
Refugee Education Across Conflicts Trust meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note(s) to these accounts.
## **Going concern**
The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.
## **Income and endowments**
Voluntary income including donations, gifts, legacies and grants that provide core funding or are of a general nature is recognised when the charity has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured with sufficient reliability.
## _**Donations and legacies**_
Donations and legacies are recognised on a receivable basis when receipt is probable and the amount can be reliably measured.
## _**Grants receivable**_
Grants are recognised when the charity has an entitlement to the funds and any conditions linked to the grants have been met. Where performance conditions are attached to the grant and are yet to be met, the income is recognised as a liability and included on the balance sheet as deferred income to be released.
## **Expenditure**
All expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to that expenditure, it is probable settlement is required and the amount can be measured reliably. All costs are allocated to the applicable expenditure heading that aggregate similar costs to that category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated on a basis consistent with the use of resources, with central staff costs allocated on the basis of time spent, and depreciation charges allocated on the portion of the asset’s use. Other support costs are allocated based on the spread of staff costs.

## **1 Accounting policies (continued)**
## _**Charitable activities**_
Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.
## **Support costs**
Support costs include central functions and have been allocated to activity cost categories on a basis consistent with the use of resources, for example, allocating property costs by floor areas, or per capita, staff costs by the time spent and other costs by their usage.
## **Governance costs**
These include the costs attributable to the charity’s compliance with constitutional and statutory requirements, including audit, strategic management and trustees meetings and reimbursed expenses.
## **Taxation**
The charity is not registered for VAT and its expenses are therefore inflated by VAT which cannot be recovered.
## **Cash and cash equivalents**
Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash on hand and call deposits, and other short-term highly liquid investments that are readily convertible to a known amount of cash and are subject to an insignificant risk of change in value.
## **Trade creditors**
are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of business from suppliers. Accounts payable are classified as current liabilities if the does not have an unconditional right, at the end of the reporting period, to defer settlement of the creditor for at least twelve months after the reporting date. If there is an unconditional right to defer settlement for at least twelve months after the reporting date, they are presented as non-current liabilities.
