Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

The University project is a continued and ongoing project, the donations from the UK have been sent to India at various points in the year. These donations have been put use to spending on completing building work, extensions to house students as well as repair and maintenance of existing buildings. New courses have been added to the existing profile as well as links have been tied up with local schools, colleges. The charity has encouraged the university to also create links with companies to allow students who graduate to take up graduate positions within these companies as a starting point in their career ladder.

Key Highlights: 2020-2021

  1. Brainstorming on Innovation and Management of Crisis during Pandemic Covid19 Lockdown: SBBSU developed an efficient way of utilization of time towards combating Covid19 pandemic situation. Students were guided to take up Online SWAYAM/MOOC courses. Various online sessions were organized by the departments to manage the crisis and to guide the students. Also, students attended various e-conferences, webinars, e-trainings etc. Online Sessions with various entrepreneurs, eminent researchers and innovators were organized. Also, students and teachers actively participated in various activities of MHRD IIC.

  2. National Webinar on 27 May, 2020: University Institute of Computer Applications and Information Sciences, SBBSU organized Webinar on Healthcare and Artificial Intelligence on 27th May, 2020.

  3. International Webinar on June 09th – 15th, 2020: Seven Day International Webinar on "Rethink, Restructure, Revive & Recycle: A Post COVID Prospective," on June 09-15, 2020 organized by Department of Physical Sciences, UISH, SBBSU.

  4. International Webinar on June 18th, 2020: Department of Computer Science & Engineering under the aegis of MHRD IIC and IQAC, SBBSU, organized one day International Webinar on 18th June, 2020, on the theme “Future of Technology using Cloud Computing and Industry 4.0”.

  5. National Multidisciplinary E-Conference, through Online Mode, on July 13th, 2020 at 10 AM organized by Department of R&D, Department of CSA under the aegis of IQAC, SBBSU Jalandhar under visionary guidance of honorable Vice-Chancellor, dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar and with the blessings of revered Chnacellor, Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji “Brahm Ji”. Honorable Prof. Gurmail Singh, Vice-Chanellor, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, Punjab delivered the Key note address.

  6. Webinar on Importance of Sports Medicine , Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation in Games & Sports on July 23rd, 2020 by Department of Sports and Physical Education, UIE under the aegis of MHRD-IIC and IQAC, SBBSU. Dr. Harkirat Singh, MBBS gave some health tips to the participants.

  7. National Multidisciplinary E-Conference-2020: University Institute of Computer Applications and Information Sciences organized Conference on National Multidisciplinary E-Conference-2020 on 13th July, 2020.

  8. Webinar on Challenges and Opportunities for Entrepreneurs in post COVID-19 Era on July 24, 2020 by Department of Commerce, UICM under the aegis of MHRD-IIC and IQAC, SBBSU. Sh. Paramjit Sachdeva, MD, Sachdeva Stock Ltd. and Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Executive Director, STEP-GNDEC, Ludhiana, Punjab delivered expert talks and shared their experiences with the participants.

Aman Bhalla Group of Institutes; and Mr. Vishavdeep Singh, Owner of Pharma company, Retailers and Resellers elucidated the participants about various aspects of strategies to manage Mental Health during Stressed conditions.

  1. Webinar on "Gender Equality and Women Rights" on 6th August 2020 was organized by Department of Law, University Institute of Law, SBBSU under the aegis of MHRD-IIC and IQAC, SBBSU. Dr. Mona Goel, National Awardee and Assistant Professor, GNDU, Regional Campus, Jalandhar elucidated the concept of Gender Equality and elaborated about the Women Rights meant for the Women help/protection and empowerment.

  2. One Week FDP on Impact and strategies for Online Teaching-Learning Methodology during COVID-19 Pandemic organized from 4th to 10th August, 2020 through Online Mode. CSA Department organized a One Week FDP on Impact and Strategies for Online Teaching-Learning Methodology during COVID-19 Pandemic held during 04-10 August, 2020 which aimed at providing a forum for interacting and deliberating with Faculty members and academicians on such significant aspects about the current circumstances of COVID-19 pandemic along with in-depth discussion on the future of Online Teaching-Learning Methodology after COVID-19 and its major impact on study including health and socio-economic status of citizens.

  3. Workshop: Workshop was organized by the Department of Commerce on 8th December 2020 on “Writing Research Paper and Bibliometric Analysis”. More than 100 research scholars and students benefited from the workshop.

  4. Webinar: Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized webinar on “Empowering Innovation, IPR and Start-ups To Transform Space Sector”, on 10th February 2021. Dr. Kajal Rai, (Assistant Professor, I.K. GPTU) was resource person.

  5. Webinar: Department of Physical Sciences organized Webinar on “Scope & Applications of Chemical and Physical Sciences in Power Sector” on 30th March, 2021. Resources person Mr. Chandan Sharma, (Senior Manager, NTPC Chhattisgarh) focused on skill and employability scopes in power sector for students and faculty of sciences.

  6. Workshop on Socio-Legal Issues relating to women and children rights: University Institute of Law organized Workshop on the topic of “Socio-Legal Issues relating to women and children rights” on 28th February 2021.

  7. Online Essay Writing Competition: University Institute of Law organized online essay competition on the Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on 14th March 2021. Topic of the event was ‘Fundamental Duties under Constitution of India.’

  8. SBBSU won Gold medal in Senior Open Punjab Athletics Championship (Athletic: Individual) in February, 2021.

  9. SBBSU won Gold medal in Senior State Championship (Weight Lifting: Individual) in February, 2021.

Donations in the UK are being made by specific individuals and families who are linked or associated to the Gurudwara and the saint’s vision.

The donations from the UK are just a small help to the massive aid needed to develop the educational complex.
