## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these**

Canaan Apostolic Faith Church activities were adversely affected by the global health crisis and this has continued. The charity, however, managed to adapt some of its activities in pursuance of its charitable aims. The trustees considered that the activities, summarised below, provide benefit to those who worship with us.

- Sunday Services: The church has held weekly services open to all members of the community that have attracted an average of 50 attendees. There are a high number of members who have accepted the Lord Jesus as their Saviour and continue to preach the gospel. Members testify to experiencing an improvement in their lives and witnessing what they would call miracles in relation to the changes in question.

- Weekly Prayers: The church has held weekly online bible studies where members aim to learn and understand the gospel. Bible studies have proven very popular as it affords an opportunity to socialise and interact. This is open to all members of the community with time and venue advertised on the church website.

- Monthly all-night online prayers and service: The all night prayers are held on the last Saturday of every month. The attendance to these averages 80 as it is an opportunity for those who are otherwise tied up on Sundays to attend. Delegates come from as far as Northampton and Peterborough.

We have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit, in particular the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion.

(Registered Charity No. 1126371)

## **Examiner's Report**

## **For the year ended 31.03.2025**

I report on the attached Financial Statements for the year ended 31 March 2025, that have been prepared on an accrual basis.

## **Responsiblibities of Management Committee and Examiner**

The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.

The Charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Act and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

1 - Examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act;

2- to follow the requirements of the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act; and

3 - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement**

My examination was carried out in accordance with general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent Examiner's Statement**

In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect

1 - accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act or

2 - the accounts do not accord with the accounting records

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
