Edmonton Baptlst Churth Preschool Charity Number: 1126324 AGM of the Preschool for Year 2025 Date- April 2026 After a difficult few years financially, the Preschool feels more stable. For a second year we have operated with approximately twenty-five children and smaller staff team. We have been able to ringfence redundancy monies which previously was a major worry. We hope it will not be required however this is now covered should we the Preschool become unfeasible at any point in the future. It is a huge relief to know that we can meet these costs should we have to. We still continue to attract a large proportion of children with special needs as well as developmentsl delays. This includes children with autism, speech and language, poor play ski115 and understanding of routines and boundaries. We adapt our provision as required to meet the needs of the children with the assistance of a designated Support Worker. This year we had a dlfferent challenge as we had two children with medical needs who needed close monitoring to keep them safe. Some of the staff undertook additional trainlng to help understand their conditions in more detail. A5 Stated In the Earty Years Foundation Stage and because we are in an area of deprivation, we are required to help children clean thelr teeth every day whilst at Preschool. This is rather time consuming especially as we also have to have regular visits from the dentist to ensure good practicel We also held our annual sports day in July, all the parents attended to watch their children take part. As usual the Parent's Egg & Spoon race was a great success. We used this opportunity to say farewell to our leavers and present them with a Leavers Certificate and a book. This sumrnerwe decided totrya different end of summerterm event. We closed the Preschool for the last day of terrn and invited all the children and parents to bring a picnic to the local park. Everyone was there and the parents brought some amazing food to share. The event was a success, and it was hoped that parents would take the children to the park during the summer holidays. Several parents adrnitted to never having taken their children to the park! At Christmastime the children performed a simple nativity and sang sorne songs. The church was full as we invited family and friends to come and listen. We also held a Christmas party for the children.
As a team we are still able to pray and read the Bible together before we start work. It is a time to support each other and share issues pertaining to Preschool and our own lives. it is a valuable part of Preschool life. Ruth Watkins
