Soundwaves Music Project – Annual Report 2023-2024 Registered Charity No: 1126276
Introduction:
As in the previous 2 years we have been in a position of just maintaining our current service, with no extra activity or planned expansion taking place. Therefore, it was felt that a full Annual Report was not warranted and have just produced this simpler single page. We were planning to try and extend our provision, to running another regular music group but failed to obtain the funding needed. Activities were also restricted following a major health issue for our Chief Officer, Adrian, who was taken out of action for about 8 weeks and then had to do a timed return to work.
## Trustees
Our current listed Trustees have remained in place but we still need to expand the board, so that we can make better progress in rebuilding after the knockbacks, still being felt from the Pandemic.
## Funding
Fortunately, we continued to receive our annual grant from J Van Mars Foundation and received funding from ‘The Woodsies Stage Fire Stewards’ at the Glastonbury Festival. We also received funding through Awards For All. Overall this meant our Income was very slightly more than our Outgoings but only by a few hundred pounds. (See the separate CC16a accounts statement for details).
## Going Forwards
As can be seen by the end of year balance Soundwaves Music Project is not in great shape, although financial projections show that we can make it through another financial year. Therefore, we will continue to operate at our current level and hold back any ambitions to expand until we are in a better financial position.

## **Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of** : **Soundwaves Music Project**
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Sound Waves Music Project (the Charity) for the year ended 31 March 2024.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
