Responsibilities of trustees
As explained more fully in the trustees, responsibilities statenient, the tnLslees (who are also the
directors for the purposes of company law) arc responsible for the preparation of the fmancial
statetneftls and for being satisfied that tbey give a true and fair view. and for such internal control as
the trustees detennine 15 necessary to enable the preparation of financial statements that ore fr¢¢ from
rnalerial misstatement. whether due to fraud or error.
ID preparing the finiincial stat¢menlS, the truslees are responsible for ass¢s$￿g the charity's ability to
continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related lo going concern and using the
going concern basis of accounting unless the tTUStees eithcr intcnd lo liquidale thc charity or to cease
operations, or have no realistic alternalive but to do so.
Auditor's responslbilltles for the audlt of the financial statements
Our objectives arc to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole
are free from material misstatement, whether duc to fraud or e￿or, and to issue an auditor's report thal
includes ow opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance, but is not o guarantee that an
audit conducled in accordancc with ISAS (UK) will always detect a rnaterial misstatement when it
cxists. Misstatements can arisc from fraud or e￿or and are considered materidl if, individually or in the
aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to influence the economic de¢i8ions of users taken on
the basis of these financial statcjnents.
I￿egUlaritIeS, includAng fraud, are instances of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design
procedure5 in line with our responsibilities, outlined above, to detect material misstatements in respect
of irtegularilies, including fraud. The extent lo which our procedures are capable of dctecting
irregularities, includin¥ fraud is detailed below:
We obtained an understanding of thc Icgal and regulatory frameworks that are applicable lo the
charity through discussion with the tnistees and identified financial reporting legislation and
charity legi8lation as being most Si￿lficunt to these finanLial statements,
We ¢ommunicated th¢se identified frameworks amongst our audit team and r¢maiDed alert to any
indications of non-compliance throughout the audit. We enyurcd that the engagement team had
sufficient competence and capability to idcntify or recognis¢ non-compliallce with the laws and
regulations.
We discussed with the trustee5 the policies and pro¢edurcs regarding compliance with these legal
and r¢gulatory framcwoTks.
We assessed the susccptibility of the charity's financial statements to rnat¢rial misstatement due
to nonvcompliance with Icgal and regulatory frameworks, including how fraud might vccur, by
enquiry with th¢ trustees during the planning and finalisation phases stages of our audit. The
$usceptibility to such material misstatement was deterniined to be low.
Based on this understanding, we designed our audit procedures to identify non-complTance wtth
the identified legal and regulatory frameworks. which were part of our procedures on the related
financial statement items.

V￿Ue, over the useful cconomic lif¢ of that asset as follows:

Impairment of flxèd assets
A revicw for indicators of impairnient is carried out at each rq)orting dAte. with the re¢overable
amount being estimated where Such indicators ¢xist. Where the carrying valiie exceed5 the
recoverable amoun¢ the assct is impaired a¢cordingly. Prior impainnents are also revicwed for
possible reversal at each reporting date.
For the putposes of impairment testing, whcn it is not possible to estimate thc recoverable
amount of an individual asset, an estimate is made of the rcroverabl¢ amount of the
ca5h-geneTating unit to which the asset b¢long5. The ca5h-geneiating unit is the smxllest
identifiable group of as5els that includes tlie asset and generates cash iT]flows tbat largely
independent of tlie cash infiows from other assets or groups of assets.
