Governing document
The charity is operated under the rules of Royal Charter granted 04/01/1912 to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
Trustees are selected through a combination of ex-officio roles and volunteer elections at the AGM.
Aims and objectives
Our purpose is to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit
The past year was focused on growth and development. Our key objectives were:

Open a Squirrel section to accommodate younger members.

Expand overall membership.

Renovate our upstairs space for enhanced activities.

Increase fundraising to support our ambitious goals.
Summary of the main achievements during the period
We are proud to report significant achievements this year:

Held successful fundraising events, including a Christmas raffle, the Packmoor Community Event, and building use for elections.

Significant progress was made on premises risk management, including a Safe Premises Audit, a number of building improvements, installation of emergency lighting and the enhancement of our upstairs meeting room.

The Group successfully hosted a well-attended Group Camp, providing an opportunity for all members to participate in a wide range of activities.
Public Benefit
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
The charity’s policy on reserves
We maintain reserves in line with Scout POR policy, currently holding a minimum of six months of running costs.
The trustees consider that the current level of unrestricted funds of £20,865 held will be adequate to meet these aims.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of 59[th ] Newchapel Scout Group For the year ended 5 April 2025
I report on the accounts of the charity, which are set out on pages 5 to 7.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
-
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
