inevitably focuse$ upon ensuring that the Tnjsl advocales the service users wishes, right and
aspirations. The Management Committee seeks lo ensure that the needs of this group are
appropriately reflected Ihrough the diversity of the Iruslee body. To enhance the potential pool of
Iruslees, the charity has, through netr￿rking with local aulhorilies. sought lo identify members that
¢an ¢ontribule effectively in the development and operations of the Trusl.
In an effort to maintain this broad skill mix, members of the Board of Trustees are requested lo provide
a list of their skills land update it each yearl and in the event of particular skills being lost due lo

project aims lo provide a friendly face and a sympathetic ear. ISAI} wew able lo help in a range of

The Charity provides assistance In th& area of housing banefll clalm durlng the period and supports
vulnerable people in managing their day-to-day activities. G￿?1 Importance was placed on
empowering tenants to lake control an(J make pertinenl decisions as tenant. The Charity's work
continued lo expand in the year under review, which experien¢ed more than an 80¥• increase in
service demand over the previous year achievement. Alhough, despite funding limilalions, over 45
people were still diffjctly accommodated and assisted through the prograrnme during the year.

This year has been particularly challenging due lo ongolng economic uncertainty, hbgh inflation and
continued increases in Interest rates. whlGh averaged approxlmalely 5% during the period. These
factors have affected funding avallablllty and placed additional pressure on donors and partner
organisalions. Despite these Ghallenge5. the Gharily has GonlSnued lo explore alternallve ways of
raising much-needed funds lo provide accommodation and support lo vulnerable Individuals.
Housing benefit Income received from IrKal aulhorllies remalned broadly con31slent with the previou8
year. However, local authorities continue lo face slgnificanl financial pressures. particularly in relation
lo social care expenditure, which has contributed lo conslrainls on housing benefll funding within local
aulhorlly budgets.
Nel surplu5 for the year increased 10 £22.393 12024". £19,538), representing an increase of
approximately 14Vo compared with the prevlous year. Thls improvement was primarily allribulable lo
the significant reduction in bad debt wrile-offs, which reduced to £Nil during the year12024.' £58,089).

19%.
Despite the improvement in re59rve5 and surplus Igvels, lolal income reduced lo approximal&ly

The Iruslees conllnue lo explore new and innovative funding opportunities lo strengthen the charity's

support the provision of services and accommodallon for vulnerable indlviduals.

The trustee5 rccognise the importance of maintaining an appropriat¢ l¢v¢l of reserves to
ensure the long-lerni financial stability and sustainability of the charity. The charity's reserves
policy is intended to provide sufficient working capital to support ongoing operations,
manage unforeseen financial challenges, and safeguard the continuity of services provided to
vulnerablc individuals.
The t￿stee$ aim to maintain unrestricted free reserves at a level sufficient to cover betw¢en
three and six months of operatlODal exp¢nditure, subject to ihe availability of funds and the
financial position of th¢ charity. This l¢vel of reserves is considered appropriate to,.
