Policy on ￿SerVeS
The calculation of free reserves is based on the definition included in the charity statement of
recommended prath.ce ISORP), Ithich provides recommendat￿$ for accounting and reporting for
charities. The trustees have examined the requirements of the charrtable company to hold free
reserves - those reserves not invested in tangitde fixed assets, exduding long temi liabilrties, or
designated for a particular purpose. This exercBe considered both the nomial requirements for
working capital and the loss of income of a hyp)thetical bLrt reasonable reduction in the scale of
operab'ons. Resulting from this, the trustees considered it wuld be appropriate to hold the equivalent
of three months. payToII expendriure, equate to ￿dir￿j approximately £85.OTrJ to
£100,000 in free reserves.
At the year end, free reserves were in deficit by £47.824 {2021- £162.805), an in year improvement of
£114,981. The improvement is la￿Y due to Ihe repayment of the loan wth Shepherd Offsl
Group as well as receiwng a one-off dC￿allOn in the year. ￿lch has been used to repay the loan. The
trustees wll continue to funders to Wt bjture surpluses in order to provide improved
organisational sustainat41ty.
The trustees ackn￿edge that as at 30 Septernber 2022 the charrty had rKJ free reserves. The
trustees recognise the importance of serving the Charit￿s future by rebuilding unrestricted reserves
and free reserves and this is a key priority. The need for the charitvs services continue to grow aTr
therefore the demand on future reserves wll also be greater. hence the charty continues to require
future funding and the support of rts funding partner5.

The financial statemerrts show that the charity ha5 made another in-year surplus of £38,923, which

Eslimation uncertainty and judgements
The preparakn.on of the financial statements requires mryement to make judgements, estimates and

The judgements (apart from those invofving estimations) that management has made in the process
