## **Summa** r **y of the objects of the cha** r **ity set out in its gove** r **ning** d **ocument**

The aims of the P re-school a re to enhance the development and de ucation of children p rimarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and rp ovide for the needs of their children through community g roups and by: (a) ofering appropriate play, e ducation and care facilities, family learning and extended hours groups, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of such g roups, ensuring that such g roups ofer opportunities for all children whatever their race, culture, religion, means o r ability; (b) encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and rp omoting public interest in and recognition of such needs in the local a reas; (c) instigating and da hering to and furthering the aims and objects of the P re-school Learning Alliance.

During the supervised r 3 o 6 hour rp e-school sessions for the academic year 2020-2021, p re-school children had opportunities to paint, play with sand/water/playdough/soil/bark/clay/pasta/cornfakes/lentils, complete jigsaws, play with a wide variety of toys and games, role-play and dress-up, use a vast selection of c raft materials, cycle & scooter, climb & slide, develop ball skills, sing, listen to stories, learn Jolly Phonics action songs with YouTube videos, do some baking, eat and make healthy snacks, taste foods f rom diferent religions and countries, … to name but a few! All of these activities (and many others) ensured that the p re-school children were working towards the learning and development requirements of the Statutory F ramework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. However, the school year was afected by the COVID-19 pandemic - resulting in restricted access for parents and carers to the setting. On ofer to parents were opportunities to participate in committee meetings (via Zoom and one in person in the Summer Term), as well as fnding out about p re-school activities via our Facebook closed page. The t rustees and staf of the p re-school have paid due regard to the public beneft of the charity in that all activities undertaken work towards the ‘advancement of e ducation’ of the p re-school children and their parents/carers in the a rea local to the charity’s p remises.
