WASHWOOD HEATH MUSLIM CENTRE AND MADRASSAH QASlM-U￿UL0om TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT For the year ended 31 Mar¢h 2024 The Trustees present their report for the period ended 31 March 2024 The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies on page 8 and comply with the charity's applicable law. The charity was incorporated as a private company limited by guarantee on 25 August 2006 . OBJECTS The objects of the charity are to advance religion in accordance with the teachings of Islam. To advance education and promot¢ the community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing particular sports. The building and maintenance of a mosque in particular but not exclusively for the benefit of the local and surrounding Muslim community in Birn]ingham. ACTIVITIES AND PROGRESS Washwood Heath Muslim Centre provides public benefit through its programmes of prayers and celebration of the key events in the Islamic Calendar. Activities are open to everyone in the community. The mosque also provides Congregational Prdyers. Friday Sennons and Eid Prayers. For younger children there are summer and winter schools during holiday period and evening classes. During the period the association managed to ratse donations and collections from local community and continue the work of building the mosque. Trustees also manage to run religious education classes for children. Trustees are planning to incre&se the classes and are in search of qualified teachers. FINANCE During the period the charity raised funds by collecting donations and interest free friendly loans from the community members. Tn￿eeS are trying to rdise funds to pay off the loans. TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ACCOUNTS Charity law requires the trustees of the Association to prepare statements of accounts for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of its incoming resources and application of resources for that period. tn preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to . - select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently: - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. - to prepare the financial statements in accordance with the methods and principles set out in the Statement of Recommended Practice Accounting and Reporting by Charities and to state whether or not th¢ accounts have been prepared in accordance with that statement

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which are sufficient to show and explain the charitys transactions and to disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Association, and to enable them to ensure that any ststements of account comply with the requirements of the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2000. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities RISK MANAGEMENT The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed. in particular those related to the operations and finances of the project , and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate our exposure to major risks. RESERVES POLICY The R¢scrve Fund represents unrestricted funds. The Trustees aim to maintain sufficient reserves so as to give flexibility to cover temporary timing differences for donations r¢ceived, adequate working capital for core costs and which allow them to r¢spond quickly to the needs of the Trust. WASHWOOD HEATH MUSLIM CENTRE AND MADRASSAH QASIM-u￿UL0om Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Washwood Heath Muslom Centre I report on the accounts of Washwood Heath Muslim Centre for the year ended 31 March 2024 which are set out on pages 5 to l O. Respective responsibilities of trnslees and examiner The charity's Trustees who are also the directors of the company for the purpose of company law are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charitys trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 ( the 201 l Act) and that an independent examination is needed. . It is my responsibility to: - examine the accounts under section 145 of the 201 l Act. - to follow procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act; and - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent euminer's statement My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An eKqmination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in th¢ accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audi( and Consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view of the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent examiner's stalement In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me use to believe that in, any material respect - the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the 201 l Ac( and section 386 of the Companies Act 2006. or -The accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or -The accounts did not comply with th¢ applicable requirements concerning the forni and content of accounts set out in the Charities Act (Accounts ands report) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give 'true and fair, view which is not a matter consid¢red as part of an independent examination. I have come across no other matters in connection with th¢ examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
