We have achieved this by awarding scholarships and bursaries to deserving young individuals, chosen by the organisations we support, thereby encouraging personal growth and achievement. Additionally, we have granted Discretionary Awards to young people not affiliated with any of our supported organisations and have also funded various school and group projects. In 2025, we provided almost £62,000 in awards to support young people, funding 115 individuals and 18 whole school and group projects. The charity allocated funding for support to young people from 18 youth organisations including, Ferndown Upper School, Dorset & Wilts Air Cadets, Beaucroft Foundation School, Ferndown

| volunteers ensured everything ran smoothly, from | ||
| welcoming guests and making sandwiches to | ||
| serving and washing up. | ||
| We were also honoured to be chosen by the | ||
| Mayor ofFerndown as his Charity ofthe Year for | ||
| 2024/25. The Mayors Quiz Night was a hugely | ||
| popular event and in total the mayor raised £5000 | ||
| fortheJTYAF. |

|helped|a|15-year-old|cadet|take|part|in|a|school|
|volunteering|trip|to|Costa|Rica.|

|exceptionally|talented|young|violinists,|giving|them|
|the|chance|to|enhance|their|musical|abilities|

Trustees and volunteers have been invaluable at several fundraising events and a volunteer from HSBC not only provided their help at our AfternoonTea but also contributed to the funds raised with matched funding from the bank. JTYAF Ambassadors are also central to the operation of the Charity, raising the profile of the JTYAF, organising fundraising support and also oroviding personal funding support.

Funding was awarded for activities ranging from a Synchronised Swimming Course to Trampolining Competitions, World Challenge Expeditions, Athletics Competitions, golf, music and photography. One of the scholarships provided funding for a talented 13-year-old student to purchase a Ceili and Solo Costume for the Irish Dancing World Championships in Dublin. The costume required for competition at this level is quite expensive, but with the support of JTYAF, she was able to take part in the World Championships with an elegant costume that will serve her for many years.

This is not an exhaustive list, ut it illustrates the diversity that the JTYAF encourages, and the significant benefits provided to young people in our community. Despite the numerous challenges that young people and their families continue to face, the JTYAF is privileged to offer support during these difficult times. Many young individuals have been able to participate in activities they otherwise wouldn't have had access to, and school projects funded by the JTYAF have made a real difference in the lives of those who have benefited from them. The JTYAF has continued to develop links with other organisations and has had several business partners during the year, including Ferndown & Parley Rotary Club, Wimborne Rotary Club, , Custom Creations, Hudsons and Asda.

These awards have provided young people with the means to follow their passions, develop new skills and contribute positively to society. In 2025, the charity organised several events, including the Afternoon Tea, the JTYAF Christmas Performance of fundraising Bingo, and the ’40 for JT’ Challenge which was the activities against objectives yy main fundraiser of the year. The charity also set , received support from various clubs and organisations through their 'charity of the year’ status. The JTYAF was incredibly grateful for the generosity of its supporters who raised more than £42,000 with their individual and group activities to commemorate John Thornton’s 40" birthday. This, along with a significant personal donation, has ensured that the JTYAF can continue to support oung people and fund awards for 2026. | towards a volunteering trip to India with the | |
| Guides, and a Guiding trip to Paris. | |

| The Discretionary Fund supported five group | |
| projects and nine individuals with almost £10,000. | |
| Awards included: - | |
| A University Student from Wimborne received a | |
| bursary which contributed towardsa self- | |
| propelling wheelchair. This will make a huge | |
| difference to her everyday life, allowing her to get | |
| around campus and continue her studies at | |
| university, despite the challenges she faces with | |
| her mobility. | |
| Funding enabled Cattistock Cricket Club to | |
| purchase a mobile net and an artificial wicket, | |
| significantly improving their training and coaching | |
| facilities. Junior players now have better | |
| opportunities to practice their batting and bowling | |
| techniques, helping them to build skills and | |
| progress in the sport. | |
| One of our young achievers was able to join his | |
| teammates from the GBG Saracens Powerchair | |
| Football Team at the National Championships in | |
| Nottingham thanks to the JTYAF funding his | |
| accommodation costs | |
| The Bournemouth Youth Handbell Team received | |
| funding to help with the travel costs for a concert | |
| tour in Barcelona where they performed at three | |
| distinguished venues, including the magnificent | |
| Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. | |

| The JTYAF provides a scholarship that covers | |
| 50% ofswimming and competition fees, enabling | |
| a talented young man to continue his training in | |
| hischosensport. |
