As a Board of Trustees, we have diligently provided financial assistance, particularfy for leisure activities and pursuits, to help selected young people enhance their skills and capabilities. Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or seprfices identified in the accounts. P8ra 1 17aThJ We have achieved this by awarding scholarships and bursaries to deserving young individuals, chosen by the organisations we support. thereby encouraging personal growth and achievement. Additionally, we have granled Discretionary Awards to young people not affiliated wtth any of our supported organisations and have also funded various school and group projects. Overall, in 2024 we have supported young people with awards totalling nearly £66,000, benefitting 79 individuals, and have funded 18 whole school and group ventures. The charity allocated funding for support to young people from 19 youth organisations including, Femdown Upper School, the Air Cadets Junior Leaders Course, Dorset & Wilts Air Cadets, Beaucroft Foundation School, Ferndown Middle School. St Michael's Middle School. West Moors Middle School, Femdown First School, Parley First School, Hampreston First SGhool, the Boscombe Youth Fiddle Orchestra, the Duke of

Edinburgh's Award Scheme, umemouth, Christchurch and Poole and the Shires. Dorset. Dorset Scouts and Christchurch Division Scouts. Dorset Guides, the Boumemouth Sea Cadets & Royal Marine Cadets, Swim Boumemouth and Child in the Wild Forest School. The Discretionary and Accessible Funds were used to provide opportunities for young people who are not members of the JTYAF'S supported organisations. During 2024 a total of £6,700 was awarded to support 10 individuals and 2 group projects. The charity also continues to fund the lease for a 16-seater minibus, sepling 7 local schools plus numerous local youth organisations. Additional Information (optlonal) You ma choose to include further statements where relevant about: SORP r8f8rence Throughout 2024. the JThAF was busy with various fundraising events, all of which were greatly supported by our dedicated volunteers. Para Contribution made by volunteers A Jf<AF volunteer organised the popular Curry Night and Trout Fishing Day, and another volunteer arranged the Bingo Night, which was a tremendous success. Our Aftemoon Tea event truly showcased the power of volunteer support. More than 15 volunteers ensured everything ran smoothly, from welcoming guests and making sandwiches to serving and washing up. We were also honoured to be chosen by the Mayor of Femdown as his Charity of the Year for 2024125. He is planning a Quiz Night in 2025 to help raise funds for the JTYAF. Trustees and volunteers have been invaluable at several fundraising events, including Fete on the Field, The Right Royal Affair, the Alternative Quiz Night, and the JTYAF Christmas Bingo. Volunteers from Barclays and HSBC not only provided their help at our Bingo and Afternoon Tea events but also contributed to the funds raised with matched funding from their respective banks.

JTYAF Ambassadors are alsotrntral to the operation of the Charity, raising the profile of the JTYAF, organising fundraising support and also providing personal funding support. Achievements and Performance SORP rgference The JTYAF has had a very suc￿Ssful 16th year. 16 years of support for young people coincided with achieving over £1 million presented in awards. Awards that have made an important differen￿ to the lives of more than 2500 young individuals, many school Gommunities and countless youth groups. Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identitying the difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. Para 1.20 During 2024 almost £66,000 was awarded to individuals and groups. The charity also continues to fund the lease for a 17-seater minibus, serving 7 local schools plus numerous local youth organisations. The charity provided funding to support young people from 19 youth organisations. Examples of this support includes: _ Ferndown Upper Sch¢)ol £7,000 was awarded as scholarships and bursaries to 12 individuals. Funding was awarded for activities ranging from a Robotics Competition to World Challenge Expeditions, and Irish Dancing. One of the scholarships provided vital support to a talented 15-year-old musician, enabling him to purchase a euphonium. Currently perfonning at Grade 6 standard, he participates in concerts, gigs. camps, and even a small tattoo, with aspirations of a career in music with the Royal Corps of Army Music. Additionally, a 13-year-old student received funding. She is travelling to Dublin in April 2025 for the Irish Dancing World Championships and is the first solo Irish Dancer from Femdown Upper School to qualify for this prestigious event. The costume required for competition at this level is quite expensive. but with the support of JTYAF, she can cornmen￿ her World Championships joumey wrth an elegant costume that will serrfe her for many years. Furtherniore, a 17-year-old student was awarded a bursary to cover the cost of a Level 5 TEFL Diploma, aiding her in her ambition to teach lish as a forei nlan ua e overseas.

She is an outstanding studentènd has worked with several intemational students during their placements in school. Dorset & Wilts Wing Air Cadets In 2024, the JTYAF awarded nearly £2.500 in funding to support two Air Cadets, adventure with the Tall Ships Trust, provide equipment for Adventure Training, and replace the ensign for 2358 (Femdown) Squadron. Air Cadet Junior Leaders Course JTYAF funding of £18,000 enabled a team of 10 Qualified Air Cadet Junior Leaders to travel to Washington. further enhancing their leadership skills developed during the Junior Leaders Course. This was truly a life-changing experien￿ for these outstanding young leaders. Boscombe Youth Fiddle Orchestra A £4,000 award provided scholarships for 12 exceptionally talented young violinists, giving them the Chan￿ to enhance their musical abilities through 1..1 tuition. The John Thomton Music Scholars ranged from beginners to those studying at Grade 8. This communty music project targets children and young people in Boscombe, particularly those from disadvantaged families, who othepwise would not have access to such musical opportuntties. Duke of Edinburgh's Award Schemes, Dorset, Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole The JTYAF supported 20 young people in participating in the DofE, which builds confidence and self*steem. Our support covered registration fees, expedition costs, and essential equipment such as walking boots. Additionally. the charity provided funding for the DofE Programme at Gryphon School, ensuring that essential equipment like jet boils and tent poles was available for expeditions. West Moors Middle School The JTYAF provided essential support to students from West Moors Middle School, enabling them to participate in a residential school trip that would have othe￿iSe been inaccessible. Additionally. four students received funding to continue their music and swimming lessons, which would have been cancelled without JTYAF support, due to the financial pressures faced by their families.

Bournemouth Sea Cadets &Boyal Marine Cadets The Boumemouth Sea Cadets utilized their award allocation to fund Offshore Voyages for two Sea Cadets and to purchase an MTA Leadership kit. Discretionary and Accessibility Funds The Discretionary Fund supported two group projects and ten individuals. Four young athletes received funding for travel costs. enabling them to participate in competitions WEth Team GB in their respective sports. A young lady with exceptional talent in aerial arts was funded for her fees and travel costs, allowing her to attend a specialist one-week intensive training course at Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal. Two students, aged 16 and 17, were supported to join volunteering expeditions in Zanzibar and Borneo, while a talented 16-year-old musician attended a Music Course wrth the National Youth Brass Band. Funding was awarded to two group projects, including the Compass Learning Centre, where support for essential expedition clothing has enabled six students to participate in the Anny 10 Tors Challenge in 2025. The Accessible Fund contrFbuted towards an off- road buggy for a 7-year-old who loves the outdoors. This new buggy will allow him to explore his favourite places, such as the woods and the beach, with his friends. Swim Bournemouth The JTYAF provides a scholarship that covers 500kn of swimming and competition fees, enabling a talented young man to continue his training in his chosen sport. This is not an exhaustive list, but it illustrates the diversity that the JThAF encourages, and the significant benefrts provided to young people in our community. Despite the numerous challenges that young people and their families continue to face, the JTYAF is privileged to offer support during these difficult times. Many young individuals have been able to participate in activities they otherwise wouldn't have had access to, and school projects funded by the JTYAF have made a real drfterence in the lives of those who have benefited from them. During 2024 the Air Cadets on the Course organised individual fundraising activities and raised an incredible £27,000. We have no investments.
