dlsruptlon. Thls was essentlal for the merger to happen
successfully and for the organlsatlon to contlnue to
8row and develop. In these challenglng tfmes wlth the
uncertalnty of Income, It was the rlght declslon whlch
has enabled the three hubs to worktogetherand move
forward as one organlsatlon to embrace opportunStles
and dlsappolntments as they unfold.

we have contlnued to make a loss, thls was not
unexpected and our forecasts were telllng us th15 and
have been accurate throughout, however, It Is a loss,
and we are forecastlng a further loss In thls financlal
year. Although we have been able to sustaln thls10sS
wlth hlstorlcal flnanclal worl In 2023 we spent tlme
worklng through a revlew of our key servlces, the
acttvlty, Income and benefit, to take some strateglc
declslons to change, Increase Income or stop servlces.
Thls was a cruclal plece of work to ensure we relled
les5 on our dwlndllng reserves, Investment Income
and external fundlng. Work In these areas wlll need
to contfnue, We cannot continue wlth these losses,
It s Imperatlve we malntaln our seNlces and dellver a
future balanced budget.

Elham Rural In 2011, renamed Age Concern Hythe and
Lymln8e was followed by anotherslgnlficant merger
In 2023, where Age Concern Hythe and Lymlnge
lolned forces wlth Age UK Ashford. Post-merger,
they now legally operate as Age Concern Hythe,
Lymlnge, and Ashford, but are commonly known as
Age UK Hythe Lymlnge, and A5hford. Subsequentlvi
new Memorandum and Artlcles of Assoclatlon were
adopted.
The body responslble for the management of the
Charlty Is the Board of Trustees. The Trustees are also
Dlrectors of the Incorporated entltyp whlch meets at
leèst 8 tlmes a year. The Board recelves reports from
a formal Flnance Commlttee. Thls commlttee meets
at least ten tlmes per year, These commlttees have
speclflc Terms of Reference, functlons delegated by the
Board, and Chalrs appolnted by the Board. The Senlor
Management Team Is represented at the meetlngs of
the Board of Trustee5 and the Commlttees.
