The Trustees present their report along with the financial statements of the Charity for the year ended 31 January 2024. The financial
Staternent5 have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies Set out in Note I to the financial statements and comply with
applicable law and tho requirÈmÈnts of thÈ StatemÈnt of Recommended Prattice. "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" issued March
2005 and the Charity's Trust Deed.
TRUSTEES
The Trustees are stated on page 2. Appointment of Trustees is governed by the Trust Deed of the Charity.
CONSnTUTION. OBJECTS AND POLICIES
The Automobile Association Charitable Trust for Road SafÈty and thÈ Environment is constitutÈd by Trust Deed dated 30 January 2(K>8 and
commenced its activities on the 4 April 2(KJ8 for the benefit of exclusively charitable purposes according to the Law of England and Wales
and charitable institutes established for charitable purposes.
The Trustees must apply the income of the Charity in furthering the following objects- the advancement of health and the environment,
and saving of lives by the prevention of personal injury to. and death of. individuals on roads and in motor vehicles in the United Kingdom
through educating road user5 in road safety, carnpaigning on i55ue5 of road safety and Pfotnoting understanding and awarene55 of road
safety, in whatever manner thÈ Trustees consider appropriate to achieve suth Objetb￿s.
The Trust is funded by the AA Group of companies and the Trustees delegate the day-to-day responsibility and administration to sraff
whose employment costs are met by Automobile Association Developments Limited
The Trustees meet as often as netessaryto fulfil their responsibilities.
AcnvmES UNDERTAKEN AND ACHIEVEMENTS
The Tru5tee5' strategy was to continue promoting existing carnpaigns including Caitlin'5 Me55age (Rural. Young Driversl and Think Bikes,
while developing the planned Seatbelt carnpaign. Trustees we¥e also keen to continue to help care leaver5 learn to drive.
Helping teenager5 in care
ThÈ AA Trust tontinuÈd to support èntl promote the bendits of helpinE teenagèrs in taTÈ and taT@ leèvers to learn to dTlVe.
In November 2023 Trustee5 agreed to give a one-off donation to the charity live Unlimited, which they Secured match funding for. Thi5
monÈy was rinE fÈntÈd to help delivÈr Livè UnlimitÈd's Driving AhÈad sthemÈ, whith funds tare leavers. driving lessons.
LfvÈ Unlimlted facÈd additional thallenges during Ff24 due to the tontinued long waiting times for a driving test. The AA Charitable Trust
advised Live Unlimited on the issue and helped raise awareness of it in the media with some high-profile stories.
In May 2023. Trustees agreed to fund £10.10) worth of M Theory Test Apps for care leavers. This was in response to the need shown
duringthe Trust's original pilot of funding driving le550n5 for caie leaver5 which highlighted the theory test a5 a particular stutnbling block
for many. Funding the app allowed the Trust to help a greater number of care leavers tomparÈd to funding driving lessons duÈ to the
lower costs. A p3rtner was needed to disseminate the free apps. and the Trust began working with the Qre Leaver Covenant charity in late
2023 to prepare for a launch in February 2024. This work will be a key part of theTrusVs work in FY25.
Seatbelts
In 2023 the AA Charitable Trust 155ued a number of media cornments highlighting the 40th anniversary o15eatbelt legislation in the UK. This
work was done to keep the topic warm in the media while behind-the-scenes work on a full campaign progressed.
The Trust worked with First Car to reseaTch attitudes to seatbelt wearing arnong young driver5, both as drivers and as passengers. The
rÈsults of this rÈse3rch wÈrÈ dÈlivÈred in June 2023 and wÈrÈ used to hÈlp infom thÈ crÈativÈ briefing of The GatÈ agÈncy.
During the year a number of meÈtin8s were held with The Gate agenry. Trustees decide upon a favorÈd campaign idea, which centÈred
around 8 proposed partnership with McDonald's. This partnership. or an alternative creative, will be 8 focus for FY25126. In FY25 the Trust
will follow on from its seatbelt anniversary work with a data-based media story highlighting the importance of wearing a seatbelt.

Think Bikesl
TrustÈÈs bÈEan plannine a media story for Think BikÈs 10th anniversary. which will frdll in early FY25. The Trust plans to re￿ngag@ with
some of the high-profile supporters of the Think Bikes launch.
TrustÈÈs ensured all new AA vans still havÈThink Bike sti£kÈrs placed on them.
Looklng ahead
The focu5 for the coming year will be working with The Gate on the Seatbelt carnpaign.. ensuring there is support for the carnpaign frorn
partners as well as developing research for the campaign. Trustees will also fc*us on the roll-out of the free AA Theory Test Apps for care
leavers through its Partnership with the Care Leavers Covenant. The Trust is also developing a campaign around Graduated Driving
Licences to help reduce the disproportionate number of deaths and serious injuries to young drivers and their passengers.

The Trustees have performed an assessment of cash in hand and the level of reseNes and income expected to be received in relation to
expected expenditure. Based on this and having regard to the resources available to the charity. the Trustees have concluded there are no
aterial uncertaintie5 and they can continue to adopt the going concern ba515 in preparingthe annual report and account5.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The incoming resources on the Unrestritted Fund ft>rthe yearatnounted to E74.287 and Re5trirted Funds of £nil. Duringthe year £85,200
of Unrestricted Funds w35 expended for direct charitable purposes and Enil expended for Restricted Funds. At the year end E180,951
remains in the Unrestricted Fund for future charitable giving and to meet the costs OF running the Charity.

It is the policy of the Charity to maintsin Unrestricted Funds at a level to meet unrestricted expenditure budgeted for the subsequent year.
