LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
Constitution
The Trelix Charitable Trust was created by Elrlabeth Ruth Inman Hanning. Henry Somerset Hanning and
Graham Egerton Benwell for charitsble purposes by means of a Trust Deed dated 25 March 2008. Elizabeth
Hanning agreed to contribute £100 to constitute the chafity and a furthef £1 million was received from The
Kaliste Trust on 30 July 2008.
The Trust is a registered charity, number 1124952.

The Trustees present their report along wlh the accounts for the year ended 5 April 2023.
Structura. Govamance and Managamant
The constitution of the charity is set out on page 1. The Trustees who have served during the year and sin
the year end are set out on page 1. Future Trustees must be appointed by resolution of the Trustees. The
Trustees must hold at least one meeting each year. A quorum at a meeting of the TTU5tees is three Trustees.
Decisions may be determined by a simple MaI￿rtY of the votes cast at a meeting.
Objectives and Activities
The Objects are to make donations towards or otherwise to promote or assist such charitable purposes and
institutions as the Trustees may think frt.
Public Benefit
The charity Trustees have complied Mqth their duty ID have due regard lo the guidance on public benefit
published by the Charity Commission and grants have been made during the year which have given public
benefft to a number of chartties wth a wide variety of charitable objects.
Funds
The Trustees must Use the income and may use the capital of the Charity in promotiThJ the Objects.
Risk Review
The Trustees have continued lo review and monitor the major risks lo which the Charity is exposed. The
Trustees have reviewed the major risk facing the Charty and believe that it would relate to a fall in investsment
income. The Trustees have addressed this risk by appoinb.ng investment managers whose perfomiance is
monitored by the Trustees.
Investments
The Trustees. invesbnenl policy has been to provide a stream of income available for potential distributFon and
a sound capital base for the long term future of the Charity.
Reserves Policy
The Trustees, policy is to apply the income year on year as il is received. so that expenditure broadly matches
income received.

Financial Review
During the year investment and other income amounting lo £51.41712022= £53.0551 was received. and grants
amounting to £30,000 {2022'. £44,000) were paid. The market value of investments al the year*nd amounted
to £1,077, 136 12022= £1,152,606} and the balance on the Stockbroker Capital account amounted to £5,971
12022- £7.3921. The Trustees will continue to closely monitor the value of its investments and thè level of
investment in(r)me.
Achievem8nls and perfomiance
In the year ending 5 April 2023. the Boumemouth property remained a home for the same family on the
resettlement scheme from Syria. They had continued support from Intemational Care Network, the final year of
this. Both the family and the charity were working towards finding a long-temi council home, and had support
from housing agencies to do this. The Portsmouth propety remains home for the same family that came to the
UK on a Afghani resettlement scheme in 2022. Hope Into Action Portsmouth and it5 partner church continue to
promde regular practical and moral 5UPPOrt for them.
The investment income received by the Trustees during the year has enabled them to make grants to 31
12022.. 481 charities betrNeen £500 and £4,000 wth a wide variety of charitable interests, benefiting local.
national and overseas communities_

I report lo the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 5 April 2023 which
are sel out on pages 5 to 8.
Responsibilitias and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wlh
the requirements of the Charities Act 20111.lhe Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the Tru5V5 aco)unt5 carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515llbl of the Act.
Independent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come lo my attention in connection
wth the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect..
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Tnjst as required by section 130 of the Act., or
2. the accounts do not accord those records" or
3. the accounts do not comply wth the applicable requirements conceming the forTn arkd content of accounts
sel out in the Charities (Account5 and Reports} Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the
accounts give a.true and fair view" which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection wlh the examination to which
attention should be drawn in thi5 report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be
reached.
