## **– TRUSTEES REPORT 6[th] April 2023 to 5[th] April 2024** The general situation in India is very similar to the previious year. The cost of living is still rising and there is very little tourism, virutally none from outside India. We no have plans to restart Happy Home, as children continue to be given extra tuition in smaller classes at our teachers’ homes which is working well. Treetops Homestay in Kumily is virtually completed except for rooms on the top floor which will only be used for staff and not visitors. When any further work is needed we will of course use our regular workmen from Tamil Nadu. Certain updating has been carried out to our Kovalam Homestay again providing much needed work. The farming projects have virtually ceased except for growing various items on the land behind the shop which is virtualy complete and will open very shortly. This will enable us to sell food and other items at reduced prices to the poor. Hopefully the small cafe in this property where we can provide basic meals at reasonable prices and even free to the very needy will be completed by the autumn. We are of course continuing to support the families of our Happy Home children when needed. As in previous years in addition to our regular monthly income from loyal supporters we have had a number of donations which are greatly appreciated.
