REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD - HOUSE OF FAITH CONNECTIONS Trustees' Report For The Year Ended 31 March 2026

The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2026.

Objectives and Activities

Aims and Objectives

The charity’s principal objects are:

  1. The advancement of the Christian religion worldwide; and

  2. The relief of poverty.

In furtherance of these objects, the charity promotes Christian worship, discipleship, biblical teaching, evangelism, pastoral care, and community outreach. The charity operates as a Christian worship centre and seeks to advance the Christian faith through regular services, conferences, retreats, prayer meetings, youth and children’s programmes, leadership development, and interdenominational activities.

The charity also works to relieve poverty and hardship by providing welfare support, food bank assistance, job club support, pastoral care, practical help, and other outreach initiatives for members of the congregation and the wider community. Through these activities, the charity seeks to demonstrate Christian love, promote social inclusion, support vulnerable people, and contribute positively to the wellbeing of the local community and beyond.

Significant Activities

During the year, the charity carried out a wide range of activities in furtherance of its charitable objects of advancing the Christian religion and relieving poverty.

The charity delivered regular worship services, prayer meetings, Bible teaching, discipleship programmes, conferences, Christian retreats, youth and children’s programmes, leadership training, and interdenominational gatherings. These activities supported spiritual growth, Christian education, fellowship, pastoral care, and community cohesion.

The charity also continued its community outreach and welfare activities, including food bank operations, job club support, welfare assistance, domestic violence victims support, health check activities, and practical support for individuals and families experiencing hardship. In addition, the charity engaged with the wider community through visits to elderly homes, multicultural community events, open-space evangelism, and weekly prayers for the community and the country.

Through these activities, the charity provided spiritual, emotional, practical, and social support to members of the congregation and the wider public, particularly those facing financial hardship, social isolation, unemployment, domestic challenges, or other personal difficulties.

Public Benefit

The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when planning and reviewing the charity’s activities. The trustees are satisfied that the charity’s activities meet the public benefit requirement and are carried out in furtherance of the charity’s objects.

The charity’s activities provide public benefit through the advancement of the Christian faith, the provision of worship services, biblical teaching, discipleship, pastoral care, prayer, evangelism, and opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth. These activities are open to members of the congregation and the wider public.

The charity also provides public benefit through its poverty relief and community outreach activities, including food bank support, welfare assistance, job club support, domestic violence victims support, health check activities, counselling, signposting, and practical support for vulnerable individuals and families.

Through these activities, the charity promotes spiritual wellbeing, social inclusion, community cohesion, relief of financial hardship, support for vulnerable people, and improved wellbeing within the local community and beyond.

The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

Additional Note

Volunteers

The trustees gratefully acknowledge the significant contribution made by volunteers during the year. The charity’s activities rely heavily on the dedication, commitment, and practical support of volunteers serving across its worship, children and youth, outreach, welfare, food bank, job club, community engagement, administration, and pastoral support activities.

Additional Note - continued

During the year, approximately 85 volunteers contributed to the delivery of the charity’s services and community projects, providing over 13,800 volunteer hours. The trustees estimate the value of this volunteer contribution to be over £156,000. This invaluable support enabled the charity to deliver its charitable activities effectively, extend its reach within the community, and provide practical and spiritual support to beneficiaries.

Achievements and Performance

Main Achievements

During the year, the charity continued to make positive progress in advancing its charitable objects and serving both its congregation and the wider community. The trustees are pleased to report that the charity continued to minister effectively to its members and the general public through regular worship services, prayer meetings, biblical teaching, pastoral care, conferences, retreats, and evangelistic outreach.

The charity strengthened membership commitment and increased community engagement through a range of spiritual, social, and welfare-based activities. Its conferences, retreats, youth and children’s programmes, leadership training, multicultural events, and interdenominational gatherings helped to promote Christian faith, fellowship, personal development, and community cohesion.

The charity also continued to provide practical support to vulnerable individuals and families through its food bank operations, welfare assistance, job club support, domestic violence victims support, health check project, and other community outreach initiatives. These activities helped to relieve hardship, reduce social isolation, support wellbeing, and provide practical assistance to people facing financial, emotional, or personal difficulties.

The trustees consider that the charity’s activities during the year positively impacted the local community in Dagenham and beyond. The charity remains committed to building on these achievements by strengthening its worship, outreach, welfare, and community support activities in future years.

Financial Review

Financial Position

The charity’s total income for the year ended 31 March 2026 was £248,446, compared with £180,377 in the previous year. Total expenditure for the year was £207,382, compared with £189,470 in the previous year. This resulted in net income of £41,064 for the year.

Total funds carried forward at 31 March 2026 were £367,386, compared with £326,322 at 31 March 2025. These funds were held as unrestricted funds and remain available to support the charity’s ongoing objectives and charitable activities.

The trustees consider the charity to be financially stable. The increase in income during the year has strengthened the charity’s financial position and enabled it to continue delivering worship, outreach, welfare, food bank, community engagement, and poverty relief activities.

The trustees continue to monitor income, expenditure, cash flow, reserves, and financial commitments carefully to ensure that the charity can meet its obligations as they fall due and continue operating effectively as a going concern.

Reserves Policy

The trustees have considered the level of reserves required to enable the charity to continue operating effectively and to meet its financial obligations as they fall due. The charity’s reserves are held to provide financial stability, support ongoing charitable activities, meet regular operating costs, manage fluctuations in income, and respond to unexpected costs or emergencies.

At 31 March 2026, the charity’s total funds were £367,386, all of which were unrestricted funds. The trustees consider this level of reserves to be appropriate in light of the charity’s ongoing commitments, including premises costs, ministry activities, welfare support, food bank operations, outreach programmes, loan obligations, and other charitable activities.

The trustees review the reserves position regularly as part of their financial monitoring and budgeting process. They will continue to ensure that reserves are maintained at a level that is sufficient to support the charity’s continued operation, while also ensuring that charitable funds are applied effectively in furtherance of the charity’s objects.

Additional Note

The trustees consider the charity to be financially stable. Adequate reserves are maintained to support the charity’s ongoing commitments, and cash flow is actively monitored to ensure that the charity can meet its obligations as they fall due. The trustees remain committed to applying the charity’s resources responsibly in furtherance of its charitable objects and to supporting the continued delivery and growth of its charitable activities.

Structure, Governance and Management

Governing Document

The charity is constituted under a Trust Deed dated 25 May 2008 and is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity registration number 1124914.

The Trust Deed sets out the charity’s objects, powers, governance arrangements, and the responsibilities of the trustees in managing the charity and applying its resources in furtherance of its charitable purposes.

Trustee Selection Methods

Trustees are appointed based on their skills, experience, commitment, integrity, and ability to contribute effectively to the governance, strategic direction, and charitable work of the organisation.

Prospective trustees are assessed with regard to the needs of the charity and the contribution they can make to the effective management and oversight of its activities. On appointment, trustees are provided with relevant Charity Commission guidance and receive an induction covering the charity’s objects, activities, governance structure, financial responsibilities, safeguarding responsibilities, risk management, and the legal duties of charity trustees.

The trustees continue to review the skills and experience of the board to ensure that the charity is governed effectively and that trustees are able to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the charity’s governing document and applicable charity law.

Additional Note

The trustees are responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, financial management, and major operational decisions of the charity. The trustees ensure that the charity’s activities are carried out in accordance with its governing document, charitable objects, and applicable charity law.

During the year, the charity’s activities were largely supported by volunteers, with one employee recorded in the accounts. Volunteers played a significant role in supporting the charity’s worship, outreach, welfare, food bank, administration, and community engagement activities.

The trustees have reviewed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, particularly operational, financial, safeguarding, and governance risks. Appropriate systems and controls have been implemented to mitigate these risks and to support the effective management of the charity’s activities and resources.

Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing the financial statements the trustees are required to:

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP; make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and

prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.

The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at anytime the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the charity's website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

The trustees' report was approved by the board of trustees and signed on its behalf by:

Mr OLADAYO ODUGBILE

Independent Examiner's Statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD - HOUSE OF FAITH CONNECTIONS is an unincorporated charity registered with the Charity Commission, registered charity number 1124914. The principal address is THE BEACON , 104 NEW ROAD, DAGENHAM, RM9 6PE.

2. Statement of Compliance

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)", Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Charities Act 2011.

3. Accounting Policies

3.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.

3.2. Fund Accounting

Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.

Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that have been set aside by the trustees for a specific purpose.

Restricted funds are to be used for specific purposes as laid down by the donor.

Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements.

3.3. Incoming Resources

Income is recognised when the charity has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the income will be received, and the amount can be measured reliably.

Donations, tithes, offerings, thanksgiving income, pledges, building offerings, mission income, event income, and other voluntary income are recognised when received or when receivable, where there is sufficient evidence of entitlement.

Gift Aid income is recognised on an accruals basis where the related donation has been received and a valid Gift Aid declaration is held. Gift Aid receivable at the year end is included within debtors.

Grant income is recognised when the charity has entitlement to the grant, any performance conditions attached to the grant have been met or are within the charity’s control, receipt is probable, and the amount can be measured reliably. Where grants are received for a specific purpose, they are treated as restricted funds and applied in accordance with the terms of the grant.

Investment income, including bank interest, is recognised when receivable.

3.4. Donated Goods and Services

Donated goods, facilities, and services are recognised where the charity has entitlement to the donated resource, it is probable that the economic benefit will flow to the charity, and the value can be measured reliably.

Donated goods received for use by the charity or for distribution to beneficiaries are recognised at their estimated fair value at the date of receipt, where such value can be measured reliably and the benefit to the charity is material. Where donated goods are distributed to beneficiaries shortly after receipt, the related income and expenditure are recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities when the goods are received and applied.

Donated services and facilities are recognised at the estimated value to the charity where the value can be measured reliably and the services or facilities would otherwise have been purchased.

The charity benefits significantly from the contribution of volunteers who give their time freely in support of worship, outreach, food bank, welfare, administration, pastoral care, and community activities. In accordance with charity accounting practice, the value of general volunteer time is not recognised as income in the financial statements, as it cannot be measured reliably. However, the trustees acknowledge the significant contribution of volunteers in the Trustees’ Report.

Financial donations made by volunteers and other supporters are recognised as income in accordance with the charity’s income recognition policy.

Page 10

REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD - HOUSE OF FAITH CONNECTIONS Notes to the Financial Statements (continued) For The Year Ended 31 March 2026

3.5. Resources Expended

Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to make a payment to a third party, it is probable that settlement will be required, and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.

Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and is classified under the appropriate charitable activity or support cost heading in the Statement of Financial Activities.

Charitable expenditure includes costs incurred in furtherance of the charity’s objects, including worship activities, conferences, evangelism, pastoral care, youth and children’s activities, welfare support, food bank activities, community outreach, training, mission support, and other activities undertaken to advance the Christian religion and relieve poverty.

Grant expenditure is recognised when the trustees have approved the grant, the recipient has been informed, and any conditions attached to the grant are within the control of the charity or have been met.

Support costs include costs that assist the work of the charity but do not directly relate to one specific activity. These include premises costs, administration, professional fees, insurance, utilities, depreciation, and other general running costs. Governance costs include the costs associated with the governance and statutory compliance of the charity, including independent examination fees.

Where costs relate to more than one activity, they are allocated on a reasonable and consistent basis.

3.6. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation

Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses.

Individual assets, or groups of related assets, are capitalised where the cost can be measured reliably and the asset is expected to provide ongoing benefit to the charity over more than one accounting period. Expenditure on repairs and maintenance is charged to the Statement of Financial Activities in the period in which it is incurred.

Depreciation is provided to write off the cost of tangible fixed assets, less any estimated residual value, over their estimated useful economic lives. Depreciation is charged on the following basis:

The trustees review the carrying value of tangible fixed assets for impairment where events or changes in circumstances indicate that the carrying amount may not be recoverable.

Freehold 0%
Leasehold 5%
Plant & Machinery 20%
Motor Vehicles 20%
Fixtures & Fittings 20%

3.7. Cash and Cash Equivalents

Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, cash held in bank accounts, and short-term deposits that are readily available for use by the charity.

3.8. Taxation

The charity is registered with the Charity Commission and is considered to pass the tests set out in the relevant UK tax legislation. Accordingly, the charity is potentially exempt from taxation in respect of income and gains received, provided that such income and gains are applied for charitable purposes only.

Direct costs represent expenditure incurred directly in carrying out the charity’s activities in furtherance of its charitable objects.

These costs include expenditure relating to worship services, conferences, seminars, evangelism, outreach and publicity, training and development, welfare support, pastoral care, youth and children’s activities, music ministry, women’s ministry, travel and subsistence, food bank materials, and other ministry and community engagement activities.

During the year, direct charitable expenditure was incurred to support the advancement of the Christian religion, Christian education, relief of poverty, and the provision of practical support to beneficiaries. Food bank expenditure was applied in accordance with the purpose for which the related restricted funding was received.

Direct costs are recognised on an accruals basis and allocated to the relevant charitable activity where the cost relates directly to that activity.

12. Prior Period Adjustment

During the year, the trustees reviewed the charity’s Gift Aid records and identified that Gift Aid income relating to previous accounting periods had not previously been fully accrued.

The adjustment relates to Gift Aid recoverable from HM Revenue & Customs in respect of eligible donations received in prior years. As the charity had entitlement to the income and the amount could be measured reliably, the under-accrued Gift Aid has now been recognised in the financial statements.

The effect of the adjustment is to increase Gift Aid income, debtors, and unrestricted funds by £31,245. The trustees consider that the adjustment provides a more accurate presentation of the charity’s income, debtors, and reserves.

The adjustment has no effect on restricted funds.
